Welcome to CERES' new dating experience -- ABOMIDate (Catchy, huh?). They've found that they're a little concerned with everyone's ability to... connect with denizens of different species, and in a place like Cerealia that is full of aliens, that's a Big Problem! After all, it's pretty clear by now that there are a lot of things about your friendly neighborhood aliens that you just know nothing about. What else do you not know? That the greeting of a Faswwg is face licking? That feathered species require mating dances to woo? That [REDACTED] needs [REDACTED] to [REDACTED]? So clearly, the way to fix this problem is...to practice dating other species! Namely eldritch abominations! In CERES' experience, eldritch abominations really sum up the full interspecies dating way of life and provide you a variety of different species (and orifices) to enjoy. So it's time to put on some proper music -- no, not that, that's not right. There, that's better. Anyway, time to put on some sexy background music, and woo the monster of your dreams! [ horrifying noises of nightmares and despair ]

PHASE I [ 800 ] Welcome to the new and improved Abominable Dating, CERES’ brand new virtual dating experience! The first thing you will see will be a character select screen, because CERES wants you to get to the dating part right away. Don’t worry, there are a lot of beautiful and handsome candidates to choose from so feel free to jump right in! There’s this fellow, or this dashing lass and even a hidden character who is... not really all that hidden if they’re right there to be picked, but there you go! You have to pick one. There’s no other option, I’m afraid. And once you do, you’ll end up in a room with your date, dressed up in beautiful, date-like clothing. Unfortunately, everyone else who picked that date will also be in the room with you, also dressed up and prepared for dating. This is awkward. It gets even more awkward when your date decides that you look like a great main course. Watch out for those claws/teeth/limbs/etc! Maybe you can work together to take down your starving date, sad as that sounds. PHASE II [ 1000 ] No dating game would be complete without stat boosting sessions. Regardless of how you feel about your current date, you’re locked into the game now (and hopefully not while covered in the blood of your date themselves, though they just come back even if you managed to kill them), and the game is picking a stat it thinks you need to work on. Either your intelligence is deplorable, your charisma is totally lacking, or your strength is at noodly-arm levels. That’s pretty bad. (It doesn’t matter what your actual intelligence, charisma or strength are, the game might be making things up at this point.) Because of this, you’re going to be automatically tossed into a mini-game to increase those stats! This will be fun, absolutely. Nothing but Fun here in ViViD. So regardless of what the game thinks you’re lacking, it’s going to throw you into the same mini-game -- eldritch abomination make-over sessions. You'll show up at a row of dressing rooms, each marked with a sign above the door reading NO INTELLIGENCE or NO STRENGTH or NO CHARISMA in bright red letters. Choosing the right one (embrace your shame) will reveal your initial date to you. They bat their eyelashes in greeting and growl out a very sultry, Will you help me, senpai? Time to get to work! You won’t be able to leave the mini-game until the monster is completely satisfied with its makeover, so it’s time to really tap in to your inner fashion sense. Of course, the fact that you’re all trying to apply makeup to the same monster might make this hard, but you can surely all get along, right? Right? PHASE III [ 1800 ] At first, you were on a date. Finally, you, your monster, candelight. Everything was going right until... well, you made a bad dialogue choice. They asked you what your favorite food was, you accidentally picked "Italian" (or maybe picked it on purpose which makes this even worse!) and then things went dark. When you wake up, you'll find yourself in a cage. The room is dark and dank and there's no light other from the crack of a door somewhere up a flight of stairs. You're in a cage in a basement and there's a key glinting on the table right across the room there. Is it for your cage? Welcome to the Yandere Route. You might not actually be alone though. The cage isn't terribly big but there's enough room for someone else and if you shift around a little, you'll bump into them. Maybe you should share some woes of the eldritch horror dating experience. Maybe you should try and find a way out! Who knows? But there's one thing for sure: You're both extremely naked. Good luck! PHASE IV [ 1830 ] You did it. You’ve gotten to the end of the game, or nearly. You’ve earned up enough affection points somehow. Maybe it was through the eldritch abomination following you around to trying to eat you or maybe it really, really, really liked your makeover. Maybe there was that thing and the cage and some weird pictures it took -- who knows! But now it’s time for the inevitable scene. The confession scene. Except... well, ViViD can’t do confession scenes very well. You'll find yourself there in the schoolyard, dressed in the appropriate school uniforms but... For one thing, there’s a heavy shower of rose petals. A heavy shower. They’re everywhere. They might get in your mouth and face, they’re pooling around your knees, it's a rose petal flood and you're about to drown! For another, the eldritch abomination you chose to romance is getting closer and... closer. And closer. And that sure is a lot of teeth, huh? Is it coming in for a kiss or to eat off your face? It’s... really hard to tell with all the rose petals, isn’t it? To make matters even worse, you can’t move -- you’re locked into the scene until it comes to its proper conclusion. The game is stuck and you're here, suffering through it all. Well, you're suffering unless someone comes and rescues you, but who in the world would interrupt a touching scene like this to do that?! BONUS [ why o'clock ] You know you have to get dressed up nicely for your date. It's an important one! Third date means third base, after all. So, you’re shoved into a closet, and surrounded by tons and tons of choices to pick from. You're spoiled for choice! But, well... no matter what you put on, or even if you just elect to stay in your regular clothing, it changes as soon as you step out of the closet to meet your date. Don’t worry, you look adorable. It can’t be taken off, of course. So you’d better get comfy, because you’re going to be a pink dinosaur for your third date and... your fourth date. And your fifth. Hell, you might still be a pink dinosaur when it comes time to confess! How... cute. [Well now.

This... gentleman(?) is going to be Honey Lemon's date for the evening apparently (Candle-lit and a table littered with rose petals? Bonus!). She gulps, her hand briefly grabbing on to the skirt of her new dress, briefly before letting it go and taking a seat across the creature. To her dismay, her chem ball purse didn't come with her new dating attire so she can't defend herself when her date goes awry (she is hoping it doesn't come to that. Maybe this creature is actually nice?). She manages a pleasant smile and is about to ask how her date was doing until it decided Honey Lemon look good enough to eat, inching closer and closer until she was within chomping range.

So much for thinking it was nice..]

[Thinking quickly, she searched for something in the little purse that came with the outfit and came across a can of hairspray. With it in hand, she grabbed the candle stick on the table, aimed the nozzle of the hairspray at its mouth and sprayed without prejudice, creating a makeshift flamethrower. While it shrieked and trashed around in pain, Honey Lemon takes it as her cue to leave the room, dropping the hairspray and candle, running as fast as her high heels can take her.]

[She has had read confession scenes in her manga, many, many, many times, but it never was this ridiculous (she's thinking about the generous amount of rose petals; not the monster whose face she tried to burned earlier). Talk about the kill in overkill, right? Honey tried to kick the pile of petals that were forming at the bottom of her feet but to no avail.]

Heeeeey! [She waves, giving her lover-to-be an awkward smile. Dressed only in a sailor fuku, no chem ball purse in sight, and without the ability to move, she's running out of options for survival] How's... your stomach-face? [Face-stomach?]

[Nothing like an angry and vindictive Eldritch abomination looming closer to your doom to rethink your dating life. The rose petals are the least of her problems.

She should have kept the candle and hairspray.]

[The nice thing is that while the monster might be getting closer and closer to Honey's face, if she listens close enough there's a distinct whizzing as a large (and probably familiar) red fist comes flying from the side to knock the monster straight in the jaw and stumbling away.

Rose petals seem to be the least of Hiro's problem, too, seeing how he's wading through them with Baymax following right behind him. Originally, he'd been too far to see who he just rescued and it's only when he's closer that he flips up his visor to address the poor player from behind.]

Hey, are you oka--[And he stops. And he stares. And he squints? before approaching closer, circling around and analyzing her quickly just to make sure she wasn't an AI in the game. But that wouldn't make sense and soon there's a very, very relieved grin.] Honey! [Except then he gets a look at her outfit and he can't help but let his lips twitch in a far-too-amused smile.] Uh. Kinda goes against your normal style don't you think?

[That monster seems to be having a hard time standing up again, but they probably shouldn't stay here for long. He's honestly just taking a moment or two to process that she's here.]

[ PHASE I ]

[ Fully prepared to make the most of any opportunity, Papyrus is elated to find that the focus of this simulation is dating, something he is so unequivocally great at that there is no doubt in his mind that he'll succeed with flying colors. He picks the monster who most looks like it needs a friend, and finds himself in a date outfit that wouldn't have been his first choice (there's a distinct lack of fashion basketballs). It definitely involves a sweater vest and some checkered golf pants and generally clothing that was made for someone with skin.

...Actually, it's amazing.

Once he finds himself in a room preparing to date said monster with several others preparing to date said monster, he starts to see what's really going on here. ]

Aha! The competition for the affections of this lonesome creature begins already! It's clear what we must do to decide who will take them on a date. For you see... [ He looks directly at whoever happens to be standing nearest too him. ] WE MUST PROVE WHO IS MOST WORTHY WITH A BATTLE OF WITS!

[ And guess who's his first opponent? (It's you.) ]

[ PHASE II ]

[ Papyrus is, obviously, not lacking one whit in intelligence, charisma, or strength, but why not go for more? It ends up being the charisma dressing room that he finds his date - ah, he can magnify his popularity and charm even further! - and wastes no time picking out makeup. (None of it's MTT-brand. What a shame!) ]

Never fear! I, the Great Papyrus, will give you the most stunning, scintillating, sensational makeover you could ever imagine in your wildest dreams! The most beautiful monsters in the underground would weep tears of pure joy at the mere sight of you! And...the less beautiful ones, too. Everyone will cry enough tears to start a flood!

[ He carries on with such affirmations while it quickly becomes clear that he has no idea how to use any of this stuff as intended. He's currently drawing the monster a nice set of eyebrows with a tube of lipstick. ]

[ PHASE III ]

[ Apparently, "spaghetti" was not the right answer for "favorite food". Which is preposterous. Spaghetti is everyone's favorite food.

Hm...a most unexpected turn of events! His date must want to be sure of his affections and is testing his strength of will by taking him prisoner! Which is a fair concern, honestly. He'd love to be the best of friends with his date/captor, but he doesn't quite feel the pull of something more. Alas. He sincerely hopes this experience has been good for them, though.

This probably also wouldn't be the most opportune time to divulge his feelings - or lack thereof - to his date, even if they were around.

He's now without the Carlton Banks-esque dating outfit he's become quite attached to, left all bones - which of course means he's no longer on a date, since the first rule of dating is wear clothing. ]

Yet another affection-based puzzle? Nyeh heh heh, I see how it is, you wily creature! But the Great Papyrus will not be japed! It is I who will do the japing! Yes, they will be so thoroughly japed by how flawlessly I am able to solve this puzzle!

[ The thing is, he hasn't even realized he's not alone yet. Sorry to whoever's sharing a cell with a skeleton monologuing about japes. ]

PHASE I

[Sans never had the heart to stop Papyrus mid-monologue whenever they happened to pop up (re: often). So when he sidles up next to his little, yet bigger, brother, he stays silent, his fuzzy slippers muffling any other sound he makes while he politely waits for his fellow skeleton to finish.]

[He plays with a little bit of lint on his tuxedo t-shirt in the meantime. Whatever thing that threw them into this hella weird, hella awkward situation at least had the decency to toss some nice fitting clothes into the mix. Papyrus' in particular exemplified just how outrageously cool he is. Sans approves. A++++++]

[So when the aforementioned brother ends his speech with a glance in Sans' direction, he's met with a sincere wink and a thumbs up.]

There's a lesson to be learnt here. Can't give a damn about that right now, though. [ Hmm, key, huh? Ignoring that it's way too obviously placed... ] Got any bright ideas on how we can get that key?

Even while struggling to make sense of the situation when the date game starts up, and he ends up picking the first guy on the list because, well that's the one that closely resembles a human being. Kinda. And when he suddenly finds himself in another outfit, he completely flips his shit.]

[Kuramochi's real good at most competitive video games, but dating games are the one genre that he never fared well with. Raising stats through minigames? What kind of stupid shit is this? This punk-looking guy's glaring at the three signs.]

[Seido's Lord Cheetah is now a pink dinosaur. He's long given up on trying to get out of the outfit, but he's still obviously pissed off about it. [This is one of the most awful things that CERES has ever put William through. The clothes are nice at least, but William knows that even that can change from experience. Usually into something humiliatingly pink and 80s. Not that William knows that the 80s were like, being born a whole century before that.

But he should prioritize and focus on the surviving this problem in front of him. There was no polite way to decline this creature that was not going to result in him getting eaten. So it was time to work on figuring out a way to get through this.

He had his magic and the COMP, but it would still be better to have an ally in this. He looked at the guy nearest to him, deciding he looked strong enough to be of help in this matter.]

[ Rei is pretty okay with the idea of a dating experience. Since she was a little girl, she always dreamt about having a dashing prince, coming to rescue her, take her some place far away, and ending with a grand wedding. She's a pure maiden at heart and while she thinks that Zen could be that special someone, she definitely has no qualms about being suddenly placed into a dating stimulation. It might be fun! She might meet someone new! Maybe she can make new friends instead! ]

[ ........ She did not expect to go out with Jabba the Hut's bootleg brother though. ]

[ She only chose this "handsome" fellow because the other two scared her way too much. That's not to say that Jabba is a real cutie pootie, but at least it doesn't look like he'd suddenly rip her in half. Though, he does keep licking his lips and extending out that long tongue of his... ]

[ Rei is in no position to fight. She's 150cm of pure innocence, and she wouldn't get very far in running, even if she wasn't trapped in a room. So, she just... sits there at the desk, furiously eating through her corn dogs (she carries a strange amount on her at all times), getting crumbs everywhere. This girl stress eats like there's tomorrow and she looks terrified out of her wits. Deep breathes, deep breathes. Maybe this monst-- er, gentleman, isn't so bad. If she's friendly, maybe she won't get eaten... ]

S... So... U-Um... It's nice to meet y-- Uwaaaah!!

[ Aaaand Jabba just wrapped his slimy tongue around her arm. So much for Mr Nice Guy. ]

[ The creature's tongue rolls around her arm and grabs on tight, trying to pull her in. Is he trying to eat her? Is he trying to just eat all the delicious corn dogs that she owns? Hmmm, whatever the reason is, Rei is not happy with it and she tries to pull away, or at least grab onto anything or anyone close enough so she doesn't get devoured. ]

[ Okay, so, Rei is still pretty damn traumatized from almost being eaten alive by Jabba the Hutt, so she's totally not going anywhere near those doors. Plus, those doors are just plain rude! She admits that she's not the sharpest tool in the shed ([retracted spoilers] will do that to you, really) or that she's super strong like Zen (again, [retracted spoilers]), but no need to put them in giant red letters for her! The third option though... ]

Charisma? Is that a type of food?

[ If it is, that's just rude too. She would totally have them if she wasn't stuck in this place!! ]

[ Okay, after that.............. mess, at the very least, this place is awarding Rei for everything by giving her a really cute pink dinosaur outfit. She doesn't seem to mind very much. ]

He's concerned - normally, he would sent Agumon to take care of the enemy. But his digital companion is nowhere to be found. So, as scary as the monster is, he steps up and shouts shounenly.]

Hey! Let her go! [He then manages to hop up onto the back of the creature's hand, grabs one ear with each of his hand and pulls.] You hear me?!

[The number of things wrong with this situation before people start getting attacked by a ravenous date-monster - monster date? Either sounds more like the fruit than an actual threat - are so numerous that, frankly, Naminé is not even a little bit surprised when it all goes south. [The irony of the situation is that even though she's had some pretty bad nightmares that included rose petals, none of them were nearly as horrifying as this. It was just a blink. You're in Thedas one minute, close your eyes and you're faced with a beast instead. A terror. Leliana was far from alone in this new room - a room, rather than a cave or open field. There was no rift in the room, but demons managed to get everywhere.

Judging by their ridiculous dress - this was nothing she'd been wearing before - none of them had weapons. Leliana could already count four places ones could be hidden in her dress, but none existed there. Stripped of everything, minus her wits and talent )

Don't underestimate it. ( Or take your eyes off it. Not that that would save you - they could move and surprise you quickly ) We're stronger than it.

( Or smarter. Demons just wanted to kill you. Though there was more to it than just the terror they had to deal with that first. Then they could think )

( A cage. How familiar did this feel? Marjolaine, Loghain. There'd been many times that Leliana had been caged - left for death, or more unpleasant matters. But it was hard to cage a bird that could pick the lock. She'd gotten out before, some with help, though this time her help (or hindrance) was already with her )

( She hadn't tried to, but it was wise words - just in case her friend, her also very naked friend, had tried to make the worst choice possible. The key was easy to find, their clothes less so, though Leliana would rather find some armour than the dress she'd been in before. Something of use to combat their captors )

( Not just because - she hopes - there's an elbow in her back, but to move around in the cage to make an attempt for that key. She wasn't staying trapped )

[There's a snort at her oh so valuable advice, short and airy and liable to be taken as the amused sound it was supposed to be. The boy notes from the voice that his companion would be a woman. It has him sober up considerably (not that he'd been in a state deviating far from serious this entire ride anyway) and focus on the new-old world of touch. Meaning, instead of trying in vain to make his eyes adjust farther, he's holding on to the cold bars inches from his face as he rises to his feet. Presumably to avoid having to steady himself on the woman's body he could scarcely make out. And he's sorry for the stare lingering on the woman's face. Really. Even more sorry for the way his gaze moves down--

he's checking for weapons, honest to gods, as if a high rank ninja would give in to embarrassment when forced into captivity like this-- and it might just be that the only thing betraying this is the pointed look-away. For all their trouble, there were reasons to be grateful for eyes so blank.] Our arms won't reach that key, even if we could be sure it was the one to this cage. [Far be it from Neji to succumb to pessimism. He's just telling the facts.

Phase III

[ Hux still isn't even sure how any of this is happening yet, is having troubles wrapping his head around the entire dammed thing. Going with it had not been an option considering the fact he was meant to be dating something that looked like it crawled from a nightmare, but he had at least made it to dinner and the monster had chosen the Italian. Whatever "Italian" was, as long as the thing wasn't taking swipes or attempting to make any kind of awkward, romantic movements Hux truly didn't care.

He should have. Waking up the general of the First Order blearily feels his way to the wall of his cage noting the bars and instantly realizing he's in trouble. The cold draft lets the realization that he's also stark naked sink in and the ginger gives a grumbled curse. The creature hadn't looked that intelligent. Things could be worse though, it could be bright lights and a crowd of people around - not even Hux's ego could withstand that.

Hux takes a small step backwards, eyes narrowing as he spies the key on the table in the distance. Maybe if the cage itself could be shifted...what if it wasn't bolted down? Then he could- ]

What the- !? [He can't help it. That small backwards movement has brought Hux into accidental contact with another being in the cage and Hux jerks back, trying not to look at all relieved that he isn't stuck in a cage, naked with that thing. Except now it's awkward, what was this a kidnapped monster date group meeting?]

Phase IV

[ The general of the First Order is not easily shaken by any means. He's survived this whole ordeal somehow, put up with how it meddles and twists things to suit it's own purposes. But now? Now things have gone too far and Hux can't help but try to ignore the sense of dread that's starting to settle on his shoulders.

There are rose petals everywhere, enough that the smell of them is cloying and sickly. There's enough of them that they're almost a foot deep in some places and enough to make sure that a hasty exit will be anything but. The monster seems to be giving him some kind of look, it's difficult to tell with all those teeth and ridiculous gangling limbs. What was worse that his outfit has changed into something stupid and not for the first time Hux is feeling a cold draft in places best left covered. The knee high socks aren't helping his temper, neither are the inconvenient and useless loafers and Hux isn't sure if it's the outfit or the fact he can't escape from some impending monster doom that's annoying him enough to point an accusing finger at the beast with a snarl.]

If you even come near me I swear I will end you. [Hux pauses, frowning even more.] I Mean it. Ah! No! Not another step. No. I'm sure you have ears there. [ Maybe it just doesn't speak his language...? Whatever it is, the monster is advancing as if slow motion and Hux knows that his options are quickly running out.] I said not another step!

Bonus Round

[ This is it. Hux had been certain, so positively certain that things could not get worse. He used to think that dealing with Ren and his war against consoles was a problem. Budget reports could have been a problem. But this? This is the biggest problem so far and Hux huffs loudly, brows drawn together in the mother of all scowls as he picks up the pink tail, studies it and then lets it drop to the ground.

There was no escaping from the outfit, he's tried and failed. For now he'll fold his arms and glare at anyone who even happens to look in his direction. They had better keep walking.]

The cutlery, the furniture, even the light fixtures are being used to pummel and stab the creature who just tried to bite her face off. She might have not been armed but at least she still had a way to fight her way out of this.]

[PHASE III] [So pancakes weren't the right answer. Whoops. Once Pyrrha comes to, she looks around the cage, assessing the situation. She still doesn't have Miló and Akoúo̱ in her possession but it looks like she can still use her semblance, assuming both the cage and the key she just spotted can be subjected to her ability. She shifts a bit, her knee bumping into something that feels like a thigh, making her realize that she wasn't alone in the cage.] I'm sorry! [When she turns around, she gasps, realizing that her follow prisoner is stark naked... as was she when she looked down on herself. She clears her throat, blushing, turning around to her side and using her arms to cover her breasts.] Hm, I think I can get us out of here but I might need a little help...

I never knew there could be so much colour anywhere before, but I'm fairly certain it's not meant to be like this. So, um, h... how are you?

[She's only noticing the outfit now, and promptly frowns at it. This is nothing like she's ever worn before and it seems very out of place. She kicks some of the petals away - the ones in her hands being ones she'll keep - and wonders where her staff is]

At this point of looking into his options, he has this weird hunch that gender doesn't really monster when half your date is legs or the other date is mostly teeth while the third date is mostly....Okay he doesn't actually know what that third date is. He elects for the delectable gentleman and decides that he's got nothing else better to do so why not?

Then he's in a room with all of these other people and seriously, it's cool, some people dig polygamy and whatever but he maybe would have liked to be told that this was going to be a thing? You know, just a heads up. He'd only prepared one poem here and now he was bending that index card up between his palms, frowning.

Okay and that monster definitely didn't look happy (??????) to see any one of them. He looks down at the poem (which was really good in case anyone was wondering) and over to the nearest person and then over to the monster and then back down at the poem.)

Man. We're so going to die, aren't we?

(He just kind of sighs heavily because nope, he didn't even have a weapon on him. Unless this thing was prone to severe damage via paper cuts. The monster staggers forward a bit and Will glances around for anything at all. There are some pretty sweet set ups on these table and he feels bad for all of five seconds before leaping onto the nearest table and picking up a plate. Wielding it like a frisbee, he whips it through the air and it smacks the monster smack dab in the middle.

The monster, for a moment, mostly just seems stunned that someone had the audacity to hit him in the face with a plate before it lets out a horrifying screech.)

Okay, bad move. I'll admit.

Phase III.

(Will really did not think that finding 90's pop to be a good music wave was a bad opinion. Apparently his date disagreed and he was thrown onto the chopping block. Or rather, into a cage. This day was progressively getting worse.

It was kind of an extra low blow for him to be naked too. There was no way that this cage passed any health protocol across the world. Will wound up squatting on his bare feet so that he didn't have to actually be sitting naked on a questionable surface. That out of the way, he began to concentrate a bit and yup, definitely still thinks he's alone.

After a moment, Will begins to glow. Like, literally. It's extremely faint but his skin becomes a dull, warm golden glow like the sun itself is gleaming out of him. It's barely anything and in normal daylight, probably wouldn't even be easy if at all possible to pick up on. But in the dark of a cage? Yeah, it gives juuuust enough light to realize that -

people with any sort of supernatural ability or spiritual connection might spot the weird green vines that seem to have sprung up out of nowhere, binding tight around the monster's limbs and body, holding it in place against the floor.

but otherwise it just looks like kakyoin's standing before the immobilized monster, giving a tired sigh. ]

While the actual truth of that statement is debatable, he has a whole lot of pride, and doesn't take too kindly to having it wounded in any way — which is why he'll stand in front of the three doors to the dresser rooms without choosing any of them.

Being the child that he is, he's going to stall out making a decision for as long as he can, but it's still true that none of this is getting him anywhere. He huffs irritatedly, fingers resting at his chin, and it seems as if he'll need someone to prompt him to choose something. ]

I'm cool, strong, and popular! And smart! How can I pick any of these?

[ When he opens his eyes, it's dark.

It's also cold. A little colder than expected. Right about now, he's feeling a breeze where he should probably not be feeling a breeze.

Luckily, though, there isn't much light, and whatever embarrassment he feels is covered up by his hair. Feeling around with his hands has him concluding that this is some kind of cage, and somehow, he gets the feeling that this is different than being put on display at the museum.

He's hesitant, but in hopes of finding someone that can help him, he calls out the name of the first person on his mind that isn't his own. ]

( Phase IV )

[ Kanesada takes after his master in many ways, all of which are physical: through his long, silky hair (which he always keeps smooth and combed, thanks to Horikawa), as well as through the clothes that he wears, including the haori that sits neatly on his shoulders. However, he's completely failed to inherit Hijikata's charm in the vast field of romance, and when you dump a sword like that into the center of a confession scene...

At this point, he's more concerned with trying to escape from the actual kissing, than how grotesque the monster appears.

So from wherever you are, you might hear a desperate, high-pitched scream that just doesn't seem to end, along with something like, "I'm too young for this!!".

Please...... save him. ]

[ Somehow, Kanesada's managed to get himself into a sleek, black suit, long hair tied neatly into a ponytail, draped over his shoulder. While it had taken him far longer than expected (shirts go into pants? what do you mean?), if Horikawa could see him now, he's sure that he'd be proud.

He steps out, only to realize...... that all of his efforts were in vain. Looking back at another mirror only has him seeing some odd reflection of himself in a pink... well... what creature is that?

If you happen to pass by, you'll see him confusedly lifting his arms and standing on one leg, alternating every few seconds. If you don't know any better, he might be conducting some kind of pink dinosaur ritual. Who knows? ]

I've seen people go into two rooms before disappearing on their third try. There's obviously no penalty for it.

[Is this really happening? This is really happening. Blake chose the NO CHARISMA door, and now this forced 'makeover' has her rolling her eyes and sighing. The monster batting its eyelashes at her has no effect, except for her to remark drily,]

[It was one thing to be thrown into a cage against her will, but it was a completely different matter to strip her naked in the process. The normally-collected heiress is huddled in the corner of the cell, bare chest facing the wall. Thankfully(?) whoever stripped her also stole her tiara, allowing her long hair to do some bit of covering as well.

Weiss was so concerned with keeping herself concealed that she hadn't realized who she was sharing her cell with, but the familiar silhouette eventually catches the corner of her eye.]

[Illumi doesn't even want to be here, but it looks like he can't leave until he's gone through with it. He picked the "hidden character" in hopes that might actually have something hidden (and useful) about it, but unfortunately that's not the case.

It attacks him after a few minutes of standing around the not-so-crowded room, and Illumi ends its life in one swift throw of his hand. Several needles embed itself in the creature's skull, and he's still holding one in his hand.

He places it back into his collar, glancing around the empty room and shrugs, lifting his hands up. Despite the corpse before him, he sounds almost chipper.] Oh. None of you were actually planning on dating it, were you?

[ hanbei has to wonder about anyone who did want to be here. this ceres has a right way of going about things in the most annoying way possible, don't they?

the swiftness of illumi's assault ends the affair before hanbei even fully pull his sword out, though. ... ah, looks like they have a real charmer on their hands. ]

Not that I can't speak for everyone's preferences, [ he straightens himself out, sheathing his sword properly ] but I'm inclined to say you saved us the trouble.

[ he says, cautiously. because of course, there's probably less jarring ways to go about it, he thinks while the monster bleeds and twitches on the ground, but he has to admit it's efficient. ]

[ Sirena's choice had been easy. They had such soulful eyes.

And she's feeling pretty cute in the dress she's been put in. ]

[ She says to her date; and she means it. Sirena does not judge a book by its cover.

Then it makes a swipe for her, but it goes right through her. It certainly helps being a ghost sometimes. She pouts. ]

Now, that's not how you flirt with a ghoul you've just met.

PHASE II
[ While she doesn't know what sempai means, she thinks the indications are clear. And what do you do for makeovers? She starts to consider the things that are there to decorate the room, not just the actual items meant for the makeover.

She floats over to the makeup, but is distracted halfway through putting it on when she spots a cute pair of real eyeballs on strings. ]

PHASE III
[ Hmm, is the cage magic, because it seems to have caught on to the fact that as aa ghost she should be able to go right through it. However, she doesn't care that she's naked, not bothering to cover up her chest at all.

She taps one of the bars on the cage. ]

( when one is asleep for eight hundred and twenty years, one tends to miss a lot. time is never a standstill; the world changes, develops against the steadfast contrast of the Nobles.

certain things were hopelessly beyond him - he, could could barely use a cell phone, could not even grasp the idea of video games.

what this was, he concludes, was another part of something that he had missed during the years of his sleep. he is forced to make a choice - and he does, though probably by virtue of pressing any button at all than actually knowing what he was signing up for.

the date - a hideous monstrosity garnished with a gaudy pink bow that inspires something incredibly close to disdain against entirely stoic (detached) features.

his face could as well be hewn from stone, and for a moment, he simply sits in his chair, sharp looks against unruly hair. he is a being displaced, perhaps one never meant to fit in anywhere.

there is someone else here, he finds, though he's busier looking around the room for a possible way out until the creature gurgles something hideously incoherent - of course, he wouldn't expect words from something like that - and knocks one of the wine bottles set for their romantic dinner.

when it turns to them, having decided that it was far too bored, or far too offended of the lack of compliments on the bow it no doubt tried very hard to pick out, it's intent is far more than clear - they are to be its meal.

if nothing else, that's just insulting. it lunges - at him, or at the one next to him - and there's a bright flash against the red of rai's eyes as he stands, fluid motion that suggests something far too dangerous against his calm. ) You do not have permission - ( voice a quiet rumble of command. ) - to move.

( as though struck, the shocked creature stops and obeys. for the time being.

this is troublesome. he wants ramen. instead, though, he briefly cants his attention to the third party. ) Do you see a way out?

( don't let him lead he will get lost and break the door or something equally stupid. )

PHASE III

( that is a lot of rose petals. it is excessive, though would not have been unappealing, if not for the scene unfolding before him.

one of the monsters lumbers forward, with what could be perceived as glee or seduction or hostility (who could tell? his senses somehow felt addled, against wherever this place (video game, illusion?) was. it had set his mood to an unquestionably foul one.

though it does not show in his demeanor, detached and distant. perhaps one wouldn't expect him to offer help to the stranger, who is clearly having somewhat mixed feelings about the impending kiss of life/death. ) Would you like help?

( romance is strange, so you never know. it might be better to ask, right?)

PHASE I.

[ Boruto prides himself on being pretty great at video games, about as good as he is at fighting, really, but this is unreal. First of all; dating simulators were gross. Second of all; this was one fucked up dating simulator. None of those options had seemed remotely okay and he was honestly choosing blindly in panic because all of them seemed like a lose/lose situation. He doesn't even fully remember what it was he chose, but there he was, and he really felt like he was going to puke.

Somehow his date is even more terrifying in person than they had been in a stupid picture and he let out something between a scream and a gagging noise when it actually started moving. This is shitty. This is really, really shitty! He's quick to try and form his rasengan, small and unimpressive looking as it may be, so he can hurl it in the general direction of the monster and hopefully not accidentally hit anyone else on its way. ]

PHASE IV

[ He can't move. And if he can't move, he can't fight. Is this what heart failure feels like? Do people really die from being terrified? Not that Boruto would admit that he gets scared, but if he were to, this is how he imagines it would feel. All he can really manage to do is spit some petals out of his mouth, glaring at the monster as it gets closer.

Normally, one might try to talk their way out of this, or be a little more gentle, or apologetic. Boruto had a slightly less subtle approach. ]

[ ... Someone just make sure this kid doesn't get eaten. ]

She wasn't sure what made her do it other than worry that this child probably had family somewhere and they would certainly want him in one piece. She seemed to be collecting small children in the city. Hikari, Takeru, and now this one.]

[While he might not be hurt, the monster had nearly taken a chunk out of her arm as she moved to block it from digging its claws into him. Up close he looked so familiar, so like - ]

[No. No that wasn't right. Naruto was already here, after all. There couldn't be two of him, could there? Excuse her she's just going to stare at you, kiddo. Forget the fact that she just pushed the monster's claws away one handed and is kinda bleeding and junk.]

[Picking a dating option wasn't the easiest, but this lovely young lady decided that maybe a talkative young man might make for easy conversation. She tries to look on the positive side. Maybe he's really friendly! Appearances can be deceiving...right?

Her hopes are dashed when he seems more keen on making a meal out of his dates than talking. She manages to sidestep his, ah, unwanted advances and gain her bearings before he fully hones in on her and she's backed into a corner as the other dates flee for relative safety. It's probably not the best time to bring up that she already has a romantic interest.]

Perhaps we should get to know each other a little better before you try things like that. It's rather impolite, you know.

[This totally seems like a situation she can talk her way out of.]


PHASE II
[Lacking strength didn't initially seem like a problem, but when you may have to fight off your date it becomes somewhat of a necessity. Shirayuki puts on a brave face and decides to push through this challenge--it can't be any worse than making small talk with something that wants you as a meal, right? And this...well, whatever it is, seems more intent upon looking nice than chewing on her like an apple. She can work with this. She rolls up her sleeves and pulls back her hair, ready to get to work.]

I-if you're looking for assistance, I'll do my best! But please keep your teeth to yourself.

[But then it's just her initial date, and well, that doesn't make the situation any more ideal than before. She turns to the nearest person, at her wits end. She's a shoujo, she can only take so much of this.]

[ Owain is always up for a challenge, and clearly the hidden date is the most challenging one of them all. After all, it was the hidden option for a reason. But no matter, even if he doesn't have all that much experience when it comes to dating, he's certainly giving it his all.

Especially when the date decides to literally take a bite out of him, which he dodges easily enough. And he doesn't let the lack of a sword at his side stop him. ]

Come now! Even without my trusty blade at my side, the Scion of Legend, Owain is more than enough of a match for you!

PHASE II;

[ Well then, Owain has never been on to care all that much about physical appearances. It's not on the outside that matters, but the heart that beats inside that does... And if that heart had belonged to someone else previously, then so be it! That said, he simply walked into one of the dressing rooms at random, not sparing a glance for the words printed above them.

After all, there's simply no plausible reason why any of them should apply to him.

Not being someone to deny any sort of creature any aid, he does his best to dress the monster to their desire. However, he's confused when it comes to make up. Owain holds up a foundation brush and examines it deeply. ]

So, is it simply like painting?

PHASE III;

[ Well, he wasn't expecting this at all. He's not even sure what "Italian" is, but he found himself saying the word and now he finds himself in the cage. While he doesn't nothing to cover his nudity, the blush on his face more than enough convey the sense of embarrassment he's feeling at this situation.

[ Support grinding, that's really the only way that this situation can be explained.

Granted, it's not like Owain would understand the concept of support grinding, he'll leave that for Robin to deal with. He has a more pressing concern right now.

He can deal with the shower of rose petals. He can deal with the attempted kiss (or face eating, but really, a really intense kiss can look like face eating anyway). But what he can't deal with? What is making him hold up his hands in an attempt to stop the confession scene from playing out to it's true end? ]

Wait wait, hold up, this is the setting?

While yes, roses are indeed a worthy symbol to display the true love one can feel for their fated partner, however a shower of them simply ruins the setting. It simply does not feel natural at all! Perhaps if one were to simply have roses on hand, then that could make it feel all the more realistic.
