 Let's keep pretending it's not technically October in the game while Yuletide thoughts continue to spread through CERES. Inspired by recent tragic events, your friendly neighborhood programmer, Elias ( ![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png){kind=small} serritor) has constructed a wonderful new ice world to be accessed through ViViD, the popular virtual simulator.As expected, this is a world covered in ice all over with a chill that bores into one's bones as players wander through. In the midst of it all lies a beautiful reconstruction of a mall, complete with various stores to suit your online shopping needs. However, before you can indulge in any spending, you're tasked with a mission should you choose to accept. You will have to enter the frost-covered mall which hosts a large, elaborate labyrinth and complete all the objectives as they're given to you and your party. It seems that some horrible foe has arisen from the great beyond to kidnap Santa Bot (no relation to the futurama one). Unable to deliver toys and goods to the poor, needy adults of Cerealia, it's up to YOU to save him from a variety of enemies which include: a.) Nasty, foul-mouthed elves b.) A rabid flock of reindeer c.) An ice queen who will not stop singing d.) And a fucking minotaur. Why? Why not?

Let the games begin! You're dropped before a giant forest with snow-covered trees, and in your path to reach the mall, there appears your first threat. They look cute and sweet -innocent little elves that smile and blush in your direction. They barely reach up to your chest and look up at you with big, glassy eyes as they promise to help you along your way. Little hands will grab yours, tugging you along. That is, until you're far enough along that you're deep in the midst of the forest where they decide to chip at a lake of frozen ice and chuck you inside.

She looks back at him for a moment. When he catches up with her she blinks, why is he freaking out?]
It's not that bad! Just a bunch of ice.
[Well that is until she hears a loud stomping. Lily stops in her tracks as something big and furry crosses an intersection in front of them. Mouth dropping she runs behind Oz and hides her face into his back.]

But oh, oops, that sure is - a thing?! Oz has no idea how to handle this minotaur tomfoolery, and he starts a little in mild surprise as Lily decides to use him as a meat shield. LILY WHY...]
I— I don't know?! ...It's not coming any closer! [AND INDEED, the minotaur just seems keen on blocking their path.]
—You stay here, okay? I'll... try talking to it.

Oz was doing a good job as her meat shield. Be honored, you are temporary Doug. She would normally jump onto him or hide in his or Fang's robe.
Bright blue eyes lock in on the creature as it makes no move to come at them. Bandersnatch growls and back up to their sides. What did it want?]
Is it a chain?! [That seems like a logical thought to her...though when Oz says he will talk to it she throws him a judging glance. Slowly it turns to one of worry as her eyes well up.]
...You aren't allowed to die! [Then she would be alone.]

But he takes his job as meat shield very seriously more often than not!! Even though he doesn't have a robe to hide in, and he's a little bit on the scrawny side, he sure does his best regardless...]
It might be? [SEEMS LOGICAL. But-] It doesn't feel like one...
[And that lack of recognizable presence is enough to have him on guard. He casts a glance toward Bandersnatch and then back at Lily when she speaks again. OH NO... HE MADE SOMEONE CRY]
I won't! I'll be very careful, so you don't have to worry, okay? [OR CRY god now he feels like a butt.]

He was a good meat shield despite being on the smaller side. She is happy to have him as a meat shield.
It was true it doesn't feel like it but this place has been throwing her odd.] Yeah...
[It was more of a reflex with her now. She didn't want to be left alone with that thing. It was big and despite Bandersnatch's power it might be stronger.]
You better! [Lily rubs her face with the palms of her hands.]

But Oz will nod at that, since it's as good as a promise to him and he never goes back on promises if he can help it.]

[And after making sure Lily won't go scurrying off into the ether, he'll set off toward the centaur. Luckily, it speaks loudly enough so that she'll be able to hear its declaration of "I WANT A HUG WITH FEELING!!" even though she's standing back.]

Lily treats it like a promise, even if it wasn't said out right. So when he says he'll return she waits quietly. The creature looks really dangerous and she has Bandersnatch at the ready just in case. Well...that was until it spoke.
Jaw dropping she stares at the thing before she looks between it and Oz.]

[Why would it want something like that?]

[IS THIS A TRAP. The minotaur is looking at him expectantly!! HE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND...
He glances back over his shoulder toward Lily imploringly, like she'll somehow miraculously have the answers that he so desperately needs right now.]

[Just making sure he isn't going CRAZY OR SOMETHING.]

[She say's it under breath as she watches the creature holds it's arms out expecting something.
Still in a state of shock she looks to Oz's face with her own questioning look.]
Yeah...do we attack it or?
[It's a good question, okay! Never has she had something like this happen.]

[WHAT'S THE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN!! If his body is close enough to a Chain that not even a bullet can stop him, he could probably survive being bear-hugged by a minotaur!]
But stand guard. [By which he means BE PREPARED TO RUN, not attack, even though he should probably expect the latter from Lily?!
That said, he'll try to give the minotaur a hug! It's a very bizarre experience and apparently not good enough, because said minotaur continues standing guard with a bellow of "AGAIN, WITH MORE FEELING!"]

With the stand guard, she takes it as 'attack if needed', because that seems like the obvious choice.
Breath held she watches Oz hug the thing before it yells that and she nearly snorts. Giggling she watches the other look more uncomfortable. Though now that it doesn't seem dangerous she starts to bounce on the balls of her feet.]
It seems nice! I wanna hug it too!

[It does seem safe enough, though, albeit a little uncomfortable. Or a lot uncomfortable?! No one ever prepared him for things like minotaur-hugging in "things to expect from the future" lectures...]
I... think it's probably safe for you to give it a shot, if you want. ["THINK" BEING KEY. But the minotaur does seem nice, if a little rude and bossy. He huffs, preparing himself to put more oomph into his second hug, whenever he gets around to actually delivering it.]
Maybe two would be better than one in this case. Twice the feeling! ...Or something like that, anyway.

[Hugging something like this was never something she could see herself doing, but the hug seems really nice. She wants to give it a try.]
Okay! [The excitement comes out in her voice as she nearly skips her way over to the two of them. When she's within range she jump hugs the creature. As it hugs her back she almost clings to it, much like how she would with Doug and Fang.]
I didn't know it would like hugs! [Letting go slowly she grins at Oz.] It gives nice hugs.

[Looking up hopefully at the minotaur!! Apparently the answer to that is "NO", because it's still staring at him expectantly once Lily lets go.]
—Really?!
[UGH... UGH!! But if Lily can do it, he won't be the one to hold them back!! He holds his arms out again and goes for a HUG WITH GUSTO this time. The minotaur gives him a scrutinizing look after, before seemingly deciding that HEY that's good enough and giving them a nod. It steps to the side soon after.]

[Captain obvious with the statement. The little Baskerville looks at Oz expecting him to do his best. It's just a hug man!
Once it's happy Lily pushes on Oz's back to make him move forward. Waving to the Minotaur as they walk by it.]

...Actually, it's the minotaur's back that gets a vaguely exasperated look - Lily just gets one of muted agreement. AT LEAST SHE SEEMED TO ENJOY HERSELF?! And it's kind of cute, because it's moments like that where he remembers she's technically pretty young kid despite the whoppin 100+ years she was missing from the world and all. Lily is basically his favorite Baskerville besides the doofy one that's his best friend...]
—Yeah, you're right. It was a lot better than those elves and deer, anyway. [FOR REAL.] And I think you were probably one of the best huggers its gotten yet!

It was a lot of fun for her. She had never done something like that before. Despite her age she was really naive to many things. With that she lacked a lot of experiences since she was abandoned so young. Regardless of that, she didn't mind Oz right now he seemed nice.]
They were mean! That thing was really nice. [At the comment her eyes light up and she stops in front of him.] You think so? [When she did things like this it was hard to imagine she could kill people easily.]

Giggling she bounces in place before she twirls around.]

Despite her giggling she stops when she hears a really pretty voice.]

[But he's laughing like it's all in good fun, because - well, basically. He'd take these competitions over their usual run-ins any day.
But at her question, he's straining to hear the voice a little more clearly.]

[Lily was kind of glad they didn't have to fight right now. It was nice to have someone a least kind next to her. It was enough that she had just about let her guard down around him.
Bandersnatch's ears twitch hearing it as well. Walking forwards she looks at Oz.]
It does, I think it's this way. [The chain starts to lead the way, but Lily waits for Oz. They were still in the maze and almost shyly she taps his hand softly. She doesn't want to get separated...although that might not be the whole truth. His hand was really warm before.]

[Even though he doubts he could lose Lily in a maze made of ice... All he'd have to do is follow the sounds of her wailing or her Chain massacring whatever sad sap boss is next in line.]
I think you're right about that, though... It's close to the center. That's probably where the next part of the game starts, so be on your guard, okay?

[She speaks softly but grips his hand a little tighter. There was little chance of them getting lost but she still wants the confirmation he isn't going to leave.]
The center? So we might be done soon? Okay! Bandersnatch can take care of it if it's dangerous!
[When she says that the chain picks up it's pace knowing they are ready to leave.]

He glances toward Bandersnatch as he moseys off though, brow furrowing a little.]
