Yes, that's apparently tomorrow, and yes, we probably should have done this before ATP... but here's our game ad if you wish to contribute anything late. Next month, we will not be eaten by holidays (we hope) since November cruelly sapped all the fucks that we wanted to give this month.

now why exactly should you care about Donten ni Warau anyway, it's obscure as hell, WELL LET ME TELL YOU A FEW THINGS

First off, it's really gorgeous. Like for real, I'd spam this art at you all day. Kemuri-sensei provides like no other.

Secondly? it's only 29 chapters in total.. SUCH A QUICK READ (trust me, I read it all in a night and lost control of my life) but if you want more than the initial storyline, we have an on-going gaiden and author tweets and profiles and another prequel called Rengoku ni Warau that's currently being written which is like Donten but in the Sengoku era if you wanna get your samurai fix. What's more is that we've compiled all of these things for you in a handy dandy resource page.

NOW DO WE HAVE ANY SHOUTOUTS IN PARTICULAR - yes of course we do, this cast is huge but I will try.



the pipsqueak to the left is Chuutarou, the youngest Kumou brother who is hyperactive and adorable and now you can ICly throw rocks at people, wow amazing.

the awkward teenager to the right of Tenka is Soramaru and can be considered the protagonist if you're into labels, I guess. the best cook, the most shounen out of errybody, and just trying to grow up a little too fast.

the pretty pretty pretty guy to the right is Kinjou Shirasu, resident ninja mom. Shirasu is good at everything and we hate him for it.

WELCOME TO THE YAMAINU, AIN'T NOBODY FRESHER THAN THIS CLIQUE. Kiiko, the goddess to the left, is the childhood friend that rounds out Tenka and Sousei's idiocy if you want to make me and the Sousei player really happy because Kiiko is Queen. everyone else in the Yamainu mostly has enough background that they're appable, some more than others.

oh and finally


this is botan and she's a part-time school teacher and full-time shikigami. which also means that she's a badass and immortal, casually tying people to trees with magic or threatening to stab ninjas, it's a good time. I'm adding her because we have an Utakata ni Warau cast (what are the odds) and a Botan to complete their trio would be so bomb.

but legitimately anyone else from the series would be great.
