Welcome to the Castle-town of Valoria

The prototype of ViViD's newest level has been complete. However, right now, only a single castle-town is open and available to be accessed with a mini-mission for all registered players. This castle-town is currently undergoing a terrible plague that causes those who drink the water to become strongly infected by the venom laced within.

The venom creates a form of volatile madness known as The Maenas, and it is said to originate by a single flower growing in the center of the castle-town's lake.

In order to purify it, everyone will have to work together to rescue the Priestess who is being held hostage in one of the castle-town's main towers, which is currently being guarded by a large dragon. Who that dragon is working for is currently unknown, but right now, it's preventing the priestess from helping the villagers.

At the log in screen, players will be greeted by Vidia, giving them a friendly announcement and providing them with the mission details:
"You're here at last! There's no time to delay, Player. The priestess mourns the more you hesitate. Come on, get equipped, and follow me! Are you ready? You simply have to follow my instructions.

✩ Get to the tower and defeat the dragon.
✩ Do not kill the townsfolk. They don't know any better! Knock them out, but do not let them die, or the imps will eat their corpses!
✩ Kill the imps, they're aggravating the madness! Each imp will release a soul orb on death. Grab it! It'll protect you from the madness, too. Each soul orb is worth ten credits!
✩ You have six hours. Please rescue the Priestess in that time, and she will be able to let you out.
✩ If you encounter people already from Tellus, you'll get a bonus orb for each soul orb you collect for all players.
✩ If you don't fight, you'll end up affected by the flower's curse... please, band together with someone and travel with them to slow the effects.
✩ The dragon will continue to re-spawn if it's fought alone. Please fight as a pair or group to bring it down if you can!
✩ Remember, you only have six hours... hurry, please!"

PHASE I
[ xx:xx ] You're standing right in the center of the entertainment district inside the main ViViD hub. The machines sit before you, beckoning to being worn so you can test out the newest level in ViViD. There are others around you, in similar positions. Researchers are on stand-by to document your every move and make sure there are no glitches at all. As you settle into your chair, you slowly put on the helmet and find yourself being immersed in a world that's so real, you can hardly tell whether or not you're in the game or still in reality. (Please don't attack the researchers, they're only doing their job and they won't hurt anyone!)
PHASE II
[ xx:xx ] You're fully immersed in the game now, wandering around with the list of objectives Vidia gave you. It's your choice where you want to start first. You can talk to the NPCs, engage in a grueling battle, level up, or head straight to fight the boss in a daring suicide run. However, as you walk through the castle-town, you catch glimpses of shifting faces. The NPCs look familiar for a moment, maybe reminiscent of someone back home. The effect lasts too short for it to be noteworthy until it continues to occur. Feel free to explore, but remember, you have six hours, a holographic timer to the side of your screen will appear when you wish for it.
PHASE III
[ xx:xx ] Another glitch appears. This one is more debilitating than the rest, leaving you hanging mid-attack. The game seems to freeze completely for a solid two minutes. In that time-span, the world shifts to your own. You're standing right in the middle of the one you remember, staring up into a sky painted red with fire while a blood-curling scream erupts from the back of your mind. You glance down around, and one by one, the people start to fall to the ground, shattering like glass. In the distance, the dragon looms, staring straight at you and roaring, though its voice seems equally agonized. Then the game resumes normally as though nothing happened. Your complete your attack and continue as normal.

Then something else appears within the darkness for a moment, lost in a single blink. That one second passes so swiftly it's barely noticeable. It might throw you off, it might leave you facing a pair of imps or crazed hordes. Whoever is with you had better started fighting... And you'd better run if you're alone!
PHASE IV
[ xx:xx ] You've reached the end. Victory is yours. The townspeople are cheering, and the Priestess is rewarding you with a kind smile and several credits to your name. The dragon lies on the ground defeated, though its eyes are open still, hollow and black. In the reflection, you can still see the traces of a world left behind. In that moment, you can also swear you see it blinking when it should be dead, but there's no time to dwell. You're being logged out and the researchers are shoving surveys in your face or asking you questions about your experience.

BONUS
[ why:o'clock ] Welcome to the Dressing Room. This is where you can dress up your character in ViViD in all kinds of costumes. Completing missions will open up new outfits that will be delivered in the real world to character's flats. As a prize for completing the above mission, characters will be rewarded with some special outfits (both are unisex). Characters will immediately be launched into the Dressing Room upon completion so they can see themselves modeling their brand new outfits to one another.
[ You can choose to set your threads in the game or before/after if you'd like. Remember to apply proper warnings on threads with trigger-y or inappropriate material and do let a mod know if your thread careens off into maiming or canoodling so we can lock the log. ]

//RUN.EXE
Welcome to CEREALIA's second Test Drive Meme. Please forgive our appearance as we are still going through the final stages of game completion… mostly fighting with table codes. While most pages are under development and/or hidden from the public eye, please don't feel discouraged, since knowing everything doesn't always make the experience. Your characters will know as little as you. For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing everyone's arrival experience and a FAQ that should explain everything in more detail. Please read them thoroughly before playing. Thank you!

PHASE II:
[So... RPGs. Not her type of game. Even less so, considering the circumstances. Still dolled up and pretending to be her sister even in this virtual space, Mukuro paces around the town trying to decide what to do first. Should she talk to the NPCs? Level up? Jump straight to the final boss? This would be so much easier if things were straightforward and more like a mindless first person shooter. That she could handle. This—she wasn't sure she could.

She's a disappointment even while playing a video game. Awesome. She wishes her sister were here. She would know what to do. She always does. The best Mukuro can do by herself is stop dead in her tracks, as if possessed by something, before she just—]

Ughhhhhh! [—STOMPS HER FOOT ON THE GROUND. Maybe she can have an epiphany by pretending to be her sister for a little longer.] This is like, way too boring! Why do I gotta play this snoozefest?!

[So much ham.]

BONUS:
[Here is Mukuro. Here is Mukuro, wearing the world's most atrocious dragon suit. Normally, she wouldn't care about the purple colored horrors this outfit entails—but these are not normal circumstances. After all, she's supposed to be her sister right now.

Junko wouldn't be caught dead in something like this, she thinks. Maybe.]

No way. There is no way I'm wearing this crap outta here!

phase ii!

It's not that boring, is it? [Two asks from a few feet away. She wasn't trying to eavesdrop, but she just happened to be passing by when she overheard Mukuro's complaints.] We're on a totally important mission to save everybody! That's exciting, right? We're doing something real good here!

[Even if that good was just for a game world, but that wouldn't quell Two's enthusiasm.]

[Of course, turning on her heel in order to face her despite the fact she could have simply tilted her head ever-so-slightly. How histrionic.]

You're kidding, right? You're totally kidding. [Boy... By the look on her face, you'd think something absolutely tragic was happening. Flailing around because you're way off script and your reliable younger sister isn't here does not count as tragic.] This is so boring and pointless I'm about to die!
homemade: (Default)

[personal profile] homemade 2014-09-04 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not kidding though. [And she was puzzled because she didn't think she said anything kidding-worthy. At least she thought so!]

But we gotta do something! Don't you feel bad for the townspeople? The Priestess is probably really sad right now too. Besides if we don't fight back, we might get the same thing that's going around town, right? And that would also be pretty bad!

It's a saying. [Said with a little more emphasis than is strictly necessary, as if she were trying to spell it out to her. In reality, she's not even mildly annoyed. Just... kind of ??? over how someone can be this upbeat.]

God, why are you so invested in this? Don't you know about the people here? That they're all fakes? This is just a game, you know.

[feeling a bit ??? is pretty normal for just about everyone who deals with Two...]

I know it's just a game, but... I dunno. I just think it's kind of sad, you know? [and having personal experience with saving places from bad things, she feels even more for it.]

[As someone who helped bring the destruction of society, it's a little difficult for her to feel any sort of sympathy for fictional characters. Her little act aside, she's kind of boggled someone would feel anything at all for these things.]

Seriously? If you feel so bad for them, why aren't you runnin' off to slay the dragon already?

[personal profile] homemade 2014-09-07 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't do it alone! The girl said so when we first started, remember? [Two frowns a little, folding her hands behind her back.] Besides, dragons are super dangerous in my world. I can't beat one by myself.

bonus.

[ Wash has managed to recover his helmet (or equip it... he's not sure how this thing works) so he looks extra ridiculous as a purple dragon with a UNSC helmet. He's picking at the suit, trying to figure out if he should get his normal armour back before taking the rest off. Either way, it's awkward as hell. ]

At least you're not the only one?

[She gives him a cursory glance, scrunching her nose in a way that would suggest she's displeased by something—but with no hint of what that something is.]

Ugh, don't remind me. [CROSSING HER ARMS. HUFFING.] That's like—super, super, super worse. I can't be seen wearing the same thing as everyone else, you know. It'd ruin my image!

I... see. [ He doesn't see. ] The dragon wouldn't ruin your image, but the fact that we're all dragons would?

[ He supposes it's the same line of reasoning as to why all of the Freelancers were different colours, and why everyone on Blue team is a different shade.

Probably. ]

Are you stupid? You sound like you're stupid. That should mean you're stupid, right? [THAT'S SO RUDE, MUKURO. This is coming from the girl that would react more or less the same way if someone told her the very same thing.

But she's not supposed to be herself right now, so it's fine. Maybe.]

If I'm seen wearing the same thing everyone else is, that means I'm being totally unoriginal! It'd be a disaster for my career.

[ It's been a long time since anyone called him stupid... it makes him blink in surprise for a moment, even if he's behind a visor. ]

I'm not... [ ...Sigh. ] And what career is that?

[ He's kind of curious about it, honestly. What do people do here? He's been in the military so long, he's not really sure what's popular with Earthlings anymore. ]

[He rolls her eyes, sighing right back at him. It sounds as exasperated and condescending as one would expect from Junko Enoshima. Or, at least, from someone pretending to be her.]

Isn't it obvious? I'm a model.

You're kinda dull, aren't you? [SQUINTS... and then proceeds to invade his personal space for further inspection. There is one finely manicured finger trying to tap your visor, dude.]

And what are you supposed to be? One of those creeps that think they're so cool because they ride bikes all day?

[She means a motorcycle rider.]

I guess I am dull. [ He'd rather be dull than whatever he was before, at least... Tucker would probably agree with her. Tucker tends to agree with a lot of girls, even at Wash's expense. (A lot of girls being one girl.) ] I don't think I'm very cool, though. Or creepy. If it helps, I haven't rode a bike in a long time.

[ He had a skateboard in his locker when he was a Freelancer though?? As well as... a rubber duck, pink bath towels, and pictures of cats. SO COOL. ]

[SO COOL... TOO COOL...

She kind of mentally flops for a moment, struggling to remember what kind of line Junko had put in her script, before she covers it up with a somewhat indignant sniff. Chill, Mukuro. You got this. You totally (don't) got this.]

Whatever. Are you always like this?

[ Good question. He's been hanging around the same people for the past few years, so he assumes that he's acting differently now that he's actually amongst others... but he still feels normal.

Normal for Wash is stressed out, paranoid and yet composed. He's probably doing a good job with it right now. ]

No. I'm being a lot nicer right now. [ Is he joking?? Is he serious?? He's serious... or trying to be. ] Are you always like this?
