![]() The lights flicker overhead, music blaring from the speakers as you step inside, every sound drowned out except for that hypnotic tune. The walls are painted in an array of hypnotic colors, saturated to the point where your attention doesn't know where to land, and all kinds of screens hang from each corner, showing flashing images of ads, gadget after gadget appearing in a second to show you the best of what Ceres has to offer. Dancing bodies flank each side of the large ballroom, bodies with eyes that look hollow and their faces too symmetrical. They'll occasionally glance at you and smile, maybe even engage and offer to take you to one of the private rooms in the back. However, their words are interrupted when the lights suddenly turn brighter and focus on the center where a raised platform sits. A man appears in the center, one hand raised to silence the music while the other holds a microphone. He pauses to reach out for a glass, snatching it from one of the wait staff passing by before raising it to the crowd. "We've finally obtained our first victory here on Cerealia. The colony is ours completely and will be fully functional from this day forward. Please enjoy all the luxurious amenities we have put together, and join me in journeying towards a new and better future. Together, we will expand our territory here and reach even further horizons. And by all means, don't be shy with the staff. They're also here for your entertainment."He gestures around the room, smiling before taking a sip of his champagne. Applause echoes from the crowd while Julius steps off the stage, handing the mic to one of the staff before pausing for pictures and interviews from reporters. You stand in the crowd as the lights dim once more, lost in a sea of people and wondering where to go next. |

Do enjoy the pretty views of the gorgeous digital city though. Which seems strangely quiet, but at this late hour, why not, right? ] |

Welcome to CEREALIA's first test drive! Please forgive our appearance as we are going through the final stages game completion. While most pages are under development and/or hidden from the public eye, please don't feel discouraged, since knowing everything doesn't always make the experience. Your characters will know as little as you. For your convenience, we have compiled a mini-FAQ - please read it thoroughly before playing. Thank you! FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS HOW DID MY CHARACTER GET HERE? You may have been just been doing their day-to-day activities - be it swimming or fighting demons - but the next moment, a crack and blinding light - now you're here, in your best attire, celebrating. The memories of your at-home activities fade away like a fleeting dream, and it's replaced with the feeling of happiness. ( You haven't forgotten your past, just that anything you were doing seems far too distant to be important. ) Must be something in the air. You can't remember clearly fighting for CERES, and whatever this Julius Vincere is telling you might be complete bullshit for all you know, but something influences you to play along anyway - if you think about it long enough, perhaps you had fought for CERES after all...?WHO/WHAT IS CERES? WHAT IS CEREALIA? You mean... you don't remember? After all the help you gave it?WHAT FORMAT CAN WE USE FOR THIS TESTDRIVE? Action (brackets/prose), video/voice, and texting are all available via your CEREVICE at this moment. Most functions are currently undergoing a system update, but as long as it is still connected to the Auralia Network, it will be available for communicative uses.WHAT IS ViVID? An amazing VR game! The demo version of ViViD will be here to play, aren't you excited? It's played with headsets that immediately allow you to experience full-body simulation, without having to move out of your seat! You can enjoy the demo world, design your own, play alone, play with a team, but remember, the boss must be beaten! Please check the phase ii thread for details and interactions!SO... PHASE III? Sexy things can happen, you're getting hot and heavy on the dance floor, and there are rooms in the back that can be decorated to your mood, after all. REMEMBER, the age of consent is 15-16, please use your own discretion and don't upset people. For the test drive, any situation that goes above PG (beyond kissing/grinding/light making out... We're lenient) must go into threads in your own journals. Any creeper behavior or unwanted advances will get an IC boot into the Frozen Locker with "Let it Go" on repeat.POWER LIMITATIONS? Actually, no, the characters don't have any of their abilities locked or otherwise suppressed. More info will be i the official FAQ, but so long as you don't destroy the entire game ( and we trust you can use your powers responsibly— as does CERES! ), limitations are nonexistent.OKAY, WHAT ABOUT PREVIOUS GAME MEMORIES? It's completely acceptable to bring a character that has been in a previous game to Cerealia!THE NAME LOOKS FAMILIAR. . . Yes, a loosely related setting concept with a place called CEREALIA was pitched for an ExitVoid phase before the moderators decided to close the game for good. A few of us got together with the original pitchers of the idea since we thought it really awesome and with a lot of potential and decided to try our own thing with it!ARE THE GAMES RELATED? Nope. Not at all, it's been rehashed from the ground up and built to stand on its own as an original place and game. We'll keep coming back to this, so don't worry. |

"Oh-!!" Opening her eyes she looks up in front of her, surprised someone else has found their way back here. It's no surprise really, considering the place has plenty of rooms to explore and if she found this one then why not someone else, right? "I'm sorry, I fell asleep... did you want to be here?" Or rather, did he want her to leave.
no subject
"Yuuki-chan..?" It doesn't even dawn upon him yet that she doesn't recognize him. Mostly since she's speaking to him so normally and without a sign that she doesn't recognize him (nor any that she does, but he's not contemplating the fact yet that people might not remember him just yet) that he just assumes she does. And it's been a while since he's seen her - even in Zelien she had just.. disappeared after a while. Shinpachi had been worried, sure, but he had hoped the girl was returned home.
Not to some party where he doesn't even know the details of how he ended up there.
"What are you doin' here?!"
no subject
"I'm sorry... who are you?" There's a note of apology in her voice, feeling terribly sorry she doesn't remember him. Though she wished she could answer his question because she had absolutely no idea how she had gotten here in the first place. The party could still be somewhat heard, if she strained her ears. She'd tried to get as far away as possible to rest and sleep off whatever that drink had been. Now she just felt bone tired and wanted to sleep more.
no subject
Ah.
This is awkward. Because from everything - her face, her voice - he's definitely sure this is Yuuki. It's got to be, unless there's some weird twin business going on here too, but he even doubts that. It has to be Yuuki, but even so, she doesn't recognize him. Which should be a logical thing, considering this isn't Zelien and he thought she'd gone home, but if she ended up here too instead then she should at least recognize him after the fun they had back there, right?
Haa... he lets out a deep breath. It's a little disappointing, he has to admit to himself. Nothing he won't get over in time, he's sure, but right now.. he feels like sulking just a little bit, if it wasn't for the fact that he doesn't immediately want to look weird in front of Yuuki. He already made her cry one too many times, even if it was by accident.
".. Ah, sorry. Must've mistaken you for someone else." He tries to laugh, but there's something vaguely awkward about the sound. "My name's Shinpachi though, Nagakura Shinpachi-- I was just lookin' around a little, sorry for waking you up."
no subject
"No! I'm-I'm the one who should be sorry!" Why couldn't she remember? Had something happened before that would make her forget someone else? The thought made her stomach sink. "I really am sorry... that I don't remember you, Shinpachi-san." Though he can't really see it through all that hair with her head bowed, the fact that her hand now hovers closer to her face is a telltale sign she's probably going to cry. Why would such a thing happen to her again? That's what she would like to know. She doesn't mean to feel this emotional over it off the bat but couple this with the fact that she's in a strange place, her brother is no where to be found, and her growing thirst, she's a little afraid she's losing it at the seams. It doesn't hurt that she can be a bit of a cry baby on occasion.
no subject
And much like last time, his first reaction is to mentally freak out since oh god, he's making a girl cry, he's making Yuki cry and it's not even the first time and he doesn't want her to cry and Sano will absolutely murder him when he sees this. And he's not so sure how good he can be at reassuring her when it's absolutely the truth that she forgot about him one way or another.
"O.. oi..." Yeah, she sure is feeling awkward here. Mostly since he's wrecking his brain trying to think up a way to keep her from crying before it starts. "It's alright, so no reason to cry, yeah? Look, I'm fine..!"
no subject
"I just... I guess I feel bad for forgetting. It's not the first time something like this has happened to me so it's a little sad." She felt stuck, like there were things that she should know but didn't and so it kept up a wall, almost. It wasn't his doing or hers for that matter, but it still was upsetting. "Uhm... if you know me, do you know my brother by any chance? I was looking for him."
Until she fell asleep after having a very strong drink that made her feel hazy and sleepy. That wasn't good, how easily her guard was let down.
no subject
"Nah, you never mentioned your brother to me before." Her friends, though, and maybe her brother was just somehow included in that group.. he never did ask many details about it, if not just out of a sheer fear of upsetting her again.
"What does he look like? C'mon, ya shouldn't lie around there like that!" If not just because like hell he's going to let shady guys take advantage of her, she was almost like a little sister to him last time around. Even if she apparently already has a brother, whoops. "Let's go look for him together."
no subject
"Ahahaha... maybe I'm just unlucky then. Forgetting stuff isn't that good but it seems to happen to me from time to time." Or really only the one time and that had been because of her mother's actions to protect her. This was a completely different matter entirely. What could she even do about it?
"Uhm... he looks tall, maybe about your height? Brown hair like mine and brown eyes. He always has kind of a sad smile on his face too..." Something she wished she could change, but that would mean him opening up to her, which wasn't something that came easily to him. She wasn't exactly any better in that department either.
no subject
"You're tellin' me he has a sad smile even with a sister as cute as you? What an outrage!" He laughs though, apparently pretty boisterous. Maybe he's laying it on a little thicker than usually on purpose to make Yuki smile, but part of it is just all natural too. It doesn't come difficult to Shinpachi. (Also, no, that's not flirting, okay, he's already definitely put her into the siblingzone a long time ago, anyway..)
"At least it means we won't have a difficult time finding him in a party where everyone else's being so loud, it means he's gonna stand out like a sore thumb." Hopefully. But they'll probably have a while anyway, who knows when this party will end and they can get a little more information.. might as well spend his time well until then. "Need some help getting up?"
In case she's still sleepy, he doesn't want her to fall on her face first thing..
no subject
"I-I don't know... it's just the way he looks sometimes?" Just as he always kept her at arms length too. She wished she could do more for him some how, but that was clearly not to be while she remained here.
"I can get up!!" And like that she tries to scramble to her feet and off of the couch, grabbing onto his arm for support. It would help to keep her landing flat on her face in her haste to prove herself. She noted that he felt as muscled as he looked and that too was a bit embarrassing when compared to her dainty looks. He could probably bench press a whole car if he wanted to. That could be an exaggeration of course.
no subject
If anything, he's already busy using his other arm as well to steady there. "There, there, easy! If you're gonna fall over, everyone will think I got some girl drunk." And that'd be an embarrassment he wouldn't live down.. or, well, a punch to the head from a certain redhead. "If it's gonna be difficult for ya to walk, just hold onto there. I don't mind."
no subject
"Wh-what? Would someone really think that? I was the one who drank them... whatever those drinks were. I thought they were soda or juice until I felt all light headed." Which clearly means someone should not be responsible when judging whether drinks have alcohol in them. Shinpachi be the adult she needs! Or something.
"Thank you... is it really okay?" She looks up at him, still somewhat embarrassed she's done something so rash and foolish. She should have at least checked the drinks more thoroughly.
no subject
"Sure, why should I mind?" Maybe since it might look a little weird to others for him to go around with a girl clinging to his arm, but he doesn't even consider that possibility.. it doesn't even occur to him, really. "Guess we'll have to keep you away from those drinks though. I didn't know you were such a fiend when it comes to booze, Yuki-chan."
The last part obviously has a teasing part to it though, it's pretty obvious from the way she describes it that it was just an accident. But poking fun at it is the easiest way of keeping the mood up.
no subject
"Ah-!! That- that was- I mean... I won't let it happen again, I promise!!" Excuse her while she dies of embarrassment, Shinpachi. You found a gullible one. Getting drunk and passing out wasn't the most intelligent or graceful thing to do and she felt incredibly remorseful over such a thing.
"I'll try not to cause you trouble either." The last thing she wanted to do was add more to his worries when neither of them could find their loved ones from home.
no subject
Not really, of course, but it's his way of telling her to not worry. Even if these surroundings still make no sense to him whatsoever, he'll at least protect his friends - that much is clear to him. He still has his swords on him, so that's one upside to this whole situation. It makes him feel like no matter what happens, he'll be able to handle it somehow.
no subject
"I wish I knew where to even start with this place, don't you?" Such as if there's a way she can quickly go back home. She already felt uneasy about this place, but her new friend seems to be easing some of those worries. He was kind and maybe a little boisterous but she felt drawn to him regardless.
