I mean, Natalia is somewhat special. Sort of. She was the first person he came clean to about his past. Which sucked in a way but even Saber kind of had to hear it as a side to Shirou in canon. So, you know, there's a small place in his heart where he obviously respects and trusts Natalia. Which is why he gives her so much shit. The more shit he gives someone, the more he cares. Otherwise, he'd just ignore them!! So take that to heart.

Other way, she's bossy, fussy, and all those other things. Which is funny because Archer secretly likes that stuff. He won't admit it but that's why he tends to be around people like that. He's better off doing things for other people since he doesn't like to do things for himself and bossy people make that easier to accomplish.

On the other hand, she has a bleeding heart. That, Archer does not like. Mostly because it can lead to stupid actions done on impulse. Which is the path to stupid heroism. He'd rather not see Natalia down that path so he often urges level headedness and will probably still be a jerk about it!!

Archer will never ever admit it but he really likes Athena. In the way that he wouldn't mind actually being a pal in his Archer kind of way. The worst part being that she's a dumb, poopy, nosey face. Which he never likes but it basically comes down to one thing.

That thing being he has to be honest with her. He doesn't really have any other option! For Archer, that's uh.....unheard of. And it's pretty new to him too considering he's always been a person of half-truths and silence. So while he's getting used to dealing with being honest, he's sort of touching on his inner Shirou at the same time, which is terrible. But it also is a way for people to wriggle into his good graces, no matter what type of person they are.

I say it in every other thread but the level of shit he gives someone pretty much shows how much he cares. Namely, the more he picks on a person, the more he likes a person. So Athena stamping in anger in his general direction is a complete success on his part. She'll probably figure that out one day but until then, he's happy hiding his semi-friendship feelings over here.

america ➝ oz: IF THERE IS ONE THING america has a weakness for, it is people who are really optimistic and happy people. he sees oz as a likeminded dude and is determined to show oz how great things in the future are. partly to brag, partly because he wants the guy to experience them too. america likes taking tiny things and sort of running with them and oz has given him plenty of opportunity to do it. america sees oz as an opportunity, as someone he can go to with whatever he wants to do and will get PLENTY OF ENCOURAGEMENT to do it, no matter how terrible the idea. this means america likes oz a lot and he is definitely going to continue bothering oz in the future. they're going to hurt themselves eventually.

america ➝ naoi: you are a KINDRED SPIRIT, naoi. america likes naoi even though he doesn't really feel the need to get to know him beyond "someone else who thinks ceres is full of shit too" -- he's not sure what naoi does here in cerealia, and he knows he's not super older or anything but he's definitely someone handy to have around when he wants to talk ceres. someone to sort of bounce his ideas off of and not get a "you're insane" or "leave it alone" back. if/when he plans to do more tinhatting, he'll probably talk to naoi again. he's just handy that way. also, when he finds out naoi can help him do terrible irresponsible blowing up stuff activities, he will be so happy.

malia ➝ kaoru: malia thinks kaoru must be the type of person who likes helping people because she obviously didn't need to help malia patch up her hand and yet she did. she thinks kaoru ought to be much more pragmatic and look out for her...self.... because what if malia wanted to eat her? what then? she'll probably follow up about her hand when i stop being a butt but oh boy. if they interact in person again, she'll probably be able to sniff out some sort of supernatural scent wafting off of kaoru which will make her very confused ??? and ask kaoru about it which is... awful. demons are bad, kaoru. she also 100% thinks kaoru's a lady if that wasn't obvious.
