PHASE I [ 20 00 ]
The evening begins promptly at 8:00 PM. There will be crowds gathered, lining up to get in. Everyone will be allowed, children, adults, the living and flesh-filled, the robotic, and the undead. The music will be thumping as far as the sidewalks outside, and the first thing everyone will notice would be bowls of candy everywhere as far as the eyes can see. They'll be sitting on top of the tables in all their innocent glory. For the most part, they are harmless.
But not the candy corn. Never the candy corn. Within it is a secret chemical that causes those who consume it to exhibit attraction to the nearest object/person to them, whether it be inanimate or otherwise. They will feel compelled to be close, to kiss and touch whatever is around them, though the effects only last an hour or so. Consider it a low-leveled aphrodisiac of sorts.
PHASE II [ 21 22 ]
You're dancing. You're moving to the music. Or you're clinging to the walls and wondering why you're even here to begin with. That's when the holograms start playing around with you. The image flickers frequently until a face appears. You can swear it's talking to you beneath the music.
'We need you. We want you. Join us. Come to the back room. Number 005.'
The closer you get to the hologram screens, the louder the voice becomes until it disappears completely, leaving you to question how real it was.
PHASE III [ 22 17 ]
For those brave enough, you go into Backroom #005. What awaits you there is a room full of masked and costumed figures. You don't know if they are human or not, but they watch you eagerly, inviting you to join their private party. Unfortunately, if you chose the backroom, you chose wrong. You chose very wrong. The door is going to be slammed shut and locked, and all the figures will then pull off their masks and reveal faces familiar to yourself. Faces from your world. They'll ask you accusingly why you haven't saved them yet. What's taking you so long. Did you forget them?
Their eyes will glow as they crowd in on you, yelling and growing more caustic until the lights flicker. When you can see clearly again, the entire room will be empty save for a single glass of wine sitting on the table. You'll be sure someone was inside just a moment ago. You were definitely talking to someone. You can't be going crazy, right?
PHASE IV [ 23 45 ]
Fifteen minutes to midnight. The music is getting louder and more intense. You've been eating candy or drinking all night (or avoiding food entirely if you're wise enough). Yet the music lures you in with its haunting tone, and you spot in the middle, a masked figure dancing more hypnotically than the rest. He's waving his chainsaw around as he puts out his lethal dance moves, and you are being drawn by the music into a violent dance off. You can fight the feeling, you can try and run. Unfortunately, none of the other natives and robots see the masked man but you. Only outsiders can see him, and the closer you get, the more you reach out to touch him-
you discover he's only a hologram like any other. Your fingers move through his shape, and distort it, but you're still so sure it's real.
BONUS [ why o'clock ]
One of the back rooms has a beautiful fortune teller by the name of Aria. She will be seated inside, welcoming individuals or groups of people to give them their fortunes, and she will be giving them bizarrely specific and intimate details about their life from their underwear preference to how many partners they've slept with and how many moles they have on their ass. Prepare for awkward embarrassment. Ah, but what does the future hold in store? She'll smile when asked, and then her face will fall apart until a drill protrudes from the center to try and stab through your face. If your reflexes are fast enough, you can dodge it. If you're too slow, prepare for a hospital visit to the CERES Medical Facility.
Once that ordeal is over with, her face will reconstruct itself back to normal, and she will smile and say your future looks very bright in CERES.

[ She's definitely not going to tell him what the fortune teller told her. And it looks like she doesn't even need to. She lets out a tiny yelp when she's pull away from the incoming drill and in the nick of time.
She felt her heart racing a bit though. Was it adrenaline from that narrow escape? The fact that Solomon is here with her? Or maybe she's still a little bit hung up on those really invasive "fortunes". If Solomon heard her yelling, she wonders if he heard anything else. ]
Thank you...
no subject
It's like you go looking for trouble as soon as my back is turned...
[He's going to move them both the hell away from this room before something else happens, but he does give her a look of concern.]
You're not hurt, are you?
no subject
I'm not trying to doing that on purpose!
[ Just as they finally move out of the room, she looks back at the fortune teller. At the moment, Aria's face has already returned to normal. Just before they went out of earshot, Sheba could hear those very last few words. Those words confused her, but maybe she'll talk about that with Solomon later.
Once they were a safe distance away, Sheba gently places a hand on his. As she gives him a gentle squeeze, she's finally able to look at him properly. ]
I'm alright and I'll be more careful from now on.
no subject
You never are.
[But he sighs and takes her hand, trying to let go of his worry, now that she's safe. Her hand on his is comforting, if only because it's proof that she's fine and right next to him. Her being flustered is just more evidence of that, so he slowly relaxes.]
I'll hold you to that. This place is strange, so don't take too many risks. Understand?
no subject
The lack of a comeback causes her to pout a bit, but she quickly recovers. Seems like he'll go easy on her this time around. ]
Yes..
[ She went in hoping to find the whereabouts of her friends. She never thought she'd have one of them rush to her rescue. Even if she doesn't want to depend on anybody, there's something comforting about having someone familiar by your side, especially when she was told of what had transpired in their home world. She had faith that Solomon would also make it here. If CERES deemed that she was worth saving, then they would have wanted Solomon and Arba even more for their strength.
They probably weren't even separated for very long, but it felt so surreal anyway.
She wanted to remain collected and strong, but she couldn't help but want to cry a little. It may be a late reaction, but at least she's doing it without any visible dangers around. ]
You... you're really here, Solomon...!
no subject
Yeah. I'm here, Sheba.
[He uses his grip on her hand to tug her closer, until she's close enough to wrap an arm around. She looks like she needs it, and he could use some of the comfort that comes from human contact right about now, too.
Losing their world is a harsh blow for him, after all they'd been doing to try and improve it. Losing friends and comrades who were practically family was even worse, but Sheba was safe. At least this small bit of happiness was still here, and he's sure the others wouldn't be angry at him for accepting it.]
You didn't think I'd let you run off by yourself, did you?
[No way in hell would he do that. Even if their world is really destroyed, even if Sheba could manage to live on by herself in this strange world with no allies, Solomon wasn't going to make her do that. She was too kindhearted to be that cruel to.]
no subject
After letting out a good cry, she pulls back a bit and wipes her face with her hands, not that it really helped much. ]
Sorry, I made your clothes dirty...
[ But she feels slightly better now. And it's not too bad to be hopeful. Thinking back on Aria's last words, she wondered if her "bright future" here could mean something good for the both of them. ]
I know I should have ignored her last words, but that fortune teller said my future in CERES is bright. She... was accurate with everything else so... I hope she's right about this, too.
no subject
(Well, and there's always the fact that he likes to feel the heat of her body near his, even if he'd never tell her that out loud.)
He shakes his head at her comment about his clothes, hardly noticing that she'd done anything to them at all, beyond a slight dampness.]
It's not important. Don't worry about it.
[It really isn't, especially compared to everything else going on right now. His eyes narrow at the mention of the fortuneteller, though, and he leans back enough to look Sheba in the eye.]
But what else did she say, exactly?
[Getting attacked by a strange, human-looking machine was one (really bad) thing, but if it was filling Sheba's head with nonsense at the same time, he needs to know what it was.]
no subject
But she chokes when Solomon interrogates her on the other things she didn't want to tell him. It's probably only important to her anyway. Geez, what kind of look would Solomon give her if she admitted that she was yelling because she was told the amount of times they've kissed or (haven't) slept together.
Or her underwear. ]
N-no...
[ She's getting flustered again and can no longer look keep eye contact anymore. Those are usually the biggest signs to indicate a look of guilt or something like that... ]
You don't need to know the rest. It's actually better if you don't know know. It's private!
[ And now she's speaking really fast. ]
no subject
That reaction makes him lean in closer to her, though, and he might be getting a little too in her space now. She usually cracks by now, so this just makes him all the more suspicious about what they talked about before he found them.]
When you put it like that, it sounds like you're hiding something from me.
[That's probably a low blow, considering how easy Sheba is to read 90% of the time, but he really feels like he needs to know.]
no subject
As he leaned forward, Sheba starts to lean back. And this is seriously unfair because Solomon has a height advantage. If she moved back anymore, she'd either fall over or end up doing the bridge pose. It depends on how flexible her body is but she's not going to test that today.
Instead, she just lightly hits him until he straightens himself. ]
It's okay because you already know anyway. [ Except for that third thing. ] That's all I'll say about it!
[ Originally, she wasn't even going to give Solomon the slightest bit of hints about the matter, but it's really hard to keep things from him. A healthy relationship wouldn't allow secrets, right? ]
no subject
So, it's something I know about, but it's still private...
[There's not a lot of things that fall under that umbrella, and despite his inability to voice his feelings well or accept hers for what they were at first, he's not completely stupid when it comes to relationships.
He manages to keep his smirk in check, just long enough to take a guess at it. If he's wrong, it'll make her loosen up, and if he's right, that answers his questions. It's a win/win.]
It's not about us, is it?
no subject
How'd he guess it so quickly?! Though she shouldn't have been so surprised. This is Solomon after all. Crap, she hesitated too long. It's too late for her to even deny it now!
Her cheeks burned as she slowly nods her head. ]
Y...yeah, it is...
[ Nngh... how embarrassing. ]
T-that's all you really need to know, okay? No more questions about this, please!
[ She's begging, Solomon. Please. Her heart won't be able handle anymore on this topic. ]
no subject
Besides, he trusts her, genuinely; there's no reason to keep pushing.]
Alright. I won't ask anymore questions.
[She'll forgive him a little teasing, won't she? He grins at her, trying to distract her just a little from the embarrassment she's feeling.]
I can find out everything I need to from your lobster-red face.
no subject
[ As if it would do anything, she quickly rubs her cheeks, hoping to get rid of the redness. Her hands nearly burned by how hot they felt. This is all Solomon's fault. ]
I don't know what you're talking about! M-maybe my face is just naturally this way!
[ Yeah, no. This is beyond the healthy pink glow any normal person should have. Again, she's having a hard time retorting. She almost wants to resort to flailing her arms at him again.
Sheba should be used to all of this teasing by now, but the girl still can't help but act this way. All in all, she definitely will end up forgiving Solomon completely. This is the one person that Sheba can't stay mad at for very long. ]
