PHASE I [ 20 00 ]
The evening begins promptly at 8:00 PM. There will be crowds gathered, lining up to get in. Everyone will be allowed, children, adults, the living and flesh-filled, the robotic, and the undead. The music will be thumping as far as the sidewalks outside, and the first thing everyone will notice would be bowls of candy everywhere as far as the eyes can see. They'll be sitting on top of the tables in all their innocent glory. For the most part, they are harmless.
But not the candy corn. Never the candy corn. Within it is a secret chemical that causes those who consume it to exhibit attraction to the nearest object/person to them, whether it be inanimate or otherwise. They will feel compelled to be close, to kiss and touch whatever is around them, though the effects only last an hour or so. Consider it a low-leveled aphrodisiac of sorts.
PHASE II [ 21 22 ]
You're dancing. You're moving to the music. Or you're clinging to the walls and wondering why you're even here to begin with. That's when the holograms start playing around with you. The image flickers frequently until a face appears. You can swear it's talking to you beneath the music.
'We need you. We want you. Join us. Come to the back room. Number 005.'
The closer you get to the hologram screens, the louder the voice becomes until it disappears completely, leaving you to question how real it was.
PHASE III [ 22 17 ]
For those brave enough, you go into Backroom #005. What awaits you there is a room full of masked and costumed figures. You don't know if they are human or not, but they watch you eagerly, inviting you to join their private party. Unfortunately, if you chose the backroom, you chose wrong. You chose very wrong. The door is going to be slammed shut and locked, and all the figures will then pull off their masks and reveal faces familiar to yourself. Faces from your world. They'll ask you accusingly why you haven't saved them yet. What's taking you so long. Did you forget them?
Their eyes will glow as they crowd in on you, yelling and growing more caustic until the lights flicker. When you can see clearly again, the entire room will be empty save for a single glass of wine sitting on the table. You'll be sure someone was inside just a moment ago. You were definitely talking to someone. You can't be going crazy, right?
PHASE IV [ 23 45 ]
Fifteen minutes to midnight. The music is getting louder and more intense. You've been eating candy or drinking all night (or avoiding food entirely if you're wise enough). Yet the music lures you in with its haunting tone, and you spot in the middle, a masked figure dancing more hypnotically than the rest. He's waving his chainsaw around as he puts out his lethal dance moves, and you are being drawn by the music into a violent dance off. You can fight the feeling, you can try and run. Unfortunately, none of the other natives and robots see the masked man but you. Only outsiders can see him, and the closer you get, the more you reach out to touch him-
you discover he's only a hologram like any other. Your fingers move through his shape, and distort it, but you're still so sure it's real.
BONUS [ why o'clock ]
One of the back rooms has a beautiful fortune teller by the name of Aria. She will be seated inside, welcoming individuals or groups of people to give them their fortunes, and she will be giving them bizarrely specific and intimate details about their life from their underwear preference to how many partners they've slept with and how many moles they have on their ass. Prepare for awkward embarrassment. Ah, but what does the future hold in store? She'll smile when asked, and then her face will fall apart until a drill protrudes from the center to try and stab through your face. If your reflexes are fast enough, you can dodge it. If you're too slow, prepare for a hospital visit to the CERES Medical Facility.
Once that ordeal is over with, her face will reconstruct itself back to normal, and she will smile and say your future looks very bright in CERES.

She nearly jumps when suddenly overwhelmed by this girl (and wow excuse her for being tiny!). Unsure what to do (since it seems like she's just really happy, and no harm was done), Vietnam awkwardly pats her stiffly on her back. Yeah, good day, right.
But before she can ask "What are you doing", the girl has pulled back and dropped the candy. Ah?]
I-it's alright? What just happened?
no subject
Give her a moment to recover. She's still trying to recover from the candy. Before she starts spewing incoherent things, Sheba tries her best to calm down. it's actually a lot harder than she expected. ]
The candy...
[ Well, that should be enough of a hint to tell Vietnam to stay away. ]
I suddenly felt strange after eating it.
[ And she suddenly had the urge to touch a random person. But she leaves that part out.
Still, the expression on her fact definitely shows how sincere she is about the situation. This isn't some sort of nasty prank or penalty game. ]
no subject
There there, she pats her on the back now. Because that should help calm her down, Vietnam doesn't know if she needs comfort or because she's ill.
No wait, it is the candy.]
Goodness, does it hurt? [She's thinking the candy made Sheba sick. She believes her anyway because Sheba's random touching just previously was rather odd.]
Do you need water or medicine?
no subject
[ Far from it. But she kind of wonders now if she'll start to feel sick after the "good" effects wear off. Maybe if she drank plenty of liquid, it might help it pass. ]
Water...
[ Especially cold water since she felt like she needed to cool down her body. Unless even that isn't safe from contamination in a place like this. What a twisted party. She become suspicious of everything in this place now. What is actually safe and what's not? ]
no subject
As long as it doesn't hurt, but ah, water? I will get it for you.
[She's sure the water should be safe. Looking at how the others who are drinking it doesn't seem to be getting sick, so they can trust it. It's an unfortunate type of necessity, anyway.
Vietnam tries to lead her to a chair to sit down.]
Sit down here and wait for me to come back, alright?
no subject
She patiently waits there until Vietnam returns with the glass, which she accepts gratefully.
A tiny sip and she's starting to feel much better compared to before. Ahh, water can be so reviving. ]
Thank you... I'm really grateful.
[ For the water and for the fact that she wasn't judged so hard after invading a stranger's personal bubble. ]
no subject
She sits down after she gives Sheba the cup and watches as she drinks it, the concern melting into relief.]
You are very welcome. Better?
no subject
Much better.
[ But she doesn't think she's fully recovered yet. Hopefully, the worst of the effects have faded now. She just needed to rest and wait it out. ]
I wonder what was in the candy that made me act that way...
[ At least one good thing happened from this encounter. She'd stop somebody else from falling into the same trap she did. ]
no subject
[A sigh and a soft smile as she leans back.] If you need more water, feel free to ask, I will go get it for you.
[Meanwhile, it really was best to rest. Fortunately, the bowl of candy designated for this table seem to have disappeared, but that would mean some other unfortunate soul is probably eating one.]
Do you think that it is possible they added something to it? [Thinking back, and the way she said "act"...
But yes, at least they can warn the others!]
no subject
She missed her friends and family and scrambled to food for comfort. Too bad it turned on her. How can something sweet be so evil?! ]
If they did, it was really hard to notice. It looked and tasted fine to me.
[ Although, to be honest, she can't really tell what's good or bad here. The sweet treats here are also really different from what she's used to. ]
no subject
Sheba is holding up well, even if Vietnam hasn't realised that she's homesick. She is herself, but one must tough it out so they can find a way to help. And clearly she needs to do something about comfort food.]
That is even more dangerous. I wonder if it is only a select amount too, as there are others here who appear fine.
Nonetheless we must be cautious here.
[She can't actually test it out either when there's no candy to be had and do not want to risk it. Also...]
My apologies also, but I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Vietnam, what should I call you?
no subject
Right...
[ The candy that she dropped onto the floor earlier has already been swept up. By what, she doesn't know. ]
O-oh! My name is Sheba.
no subject
But there goes their evidence. Oh well, there's plenty around if they need to poke into it (though caution still needed)]
At least the danger is over now.
[She bows her head politely!] It is nice to meet you, Sheba, despite circumstances!
no subject
It's nice meeting you, too.
[ Oh, bowing... that's usually something reserved for someone who has higher social standing. Regardless, she lowers her head to return the polite gesture. ]
I almost regret tossing the candy away now. It might have helped us in some way.
[ Not that she would have known what to do with it. Sheba didn't have Ugo's brains. She's positive her head would have hurt if she did though. But the most the candy would have told them might be the specific type to avoid. ]
O-oh! I remembered it was a very sweet, easy-to-chew piece though.
[ Maybe that'll help narrow down the culprit. ]
no subject
She doesn't know of your ranks, only that this is polite!]
It might have, but it was hurting you, so it was only right of you throw it.
[What if she kept going! But oh wait, a reminder!]
Very sweet and easy to chew? Hmm...wait here.
[She stands up and moves over to another table, trying to find their candy bowl. Next she's back, having filled a cup with one of each of the candy varieties.]
Does any of them look familiar?
no subject
[ She looks at each piece carefully. The wrapped pieces were instantly separated. She's pretty sure that the one she had eaten was just popped into her mouth. She couldn't seriously have gotten high enough to just eat the wrapper along with the candy.
They managed to narrow down the choices, but only by a handful. She tries to remember any more distinguishing details. ]
I think I remember it being colorful.
[ It had to have had more than one color so they could remove the single colored ones. ]
no subject
They could be harmless, but right now she's not willing to test that out either until they find their culprit.]
Colourful...
[And she picks at the single coloured ones and puts them aside too. Now they're left with five kinds.]
You're doing really well!
no subject
[ Oh, she got praised, even if it's a very small one. It still made her feel a bit happy anyway. If this were Solomon, she would probably be skipping around with excitement in private somewhere. And that's without the influence of the drugged candy.
She would also be a hundred-percent aware of the embarrassing things she may end up doing. ]
We're so close now...
[ Only five pieces left. ]
Vietnam, what's the sweetest candy you've ever had in your life?
no subject
Just a little more! [Though she's not against just blacklisting all five of these for safety purposes.]
The sweetest candy I've ever had...[She taps her chin.]
Either straight rock sugar, or I believe another is they called rock candy? [It's actually hard, she's trying to think of something she remembered was sweet without the fruity or sour flavourings.] Was it the sweetest thing you've tasted today?
no subject
[ Even if the word "candy" or "sugar" is in there, why on earth would anyone ever eat a rock?! Vietnam must have jaws of steel and a even stronger stomach to digest it all. ]
Yeah, it was. I thought maybe you'd recognize some of them and knew what tasted the sweetest to you.
[ She seems to be out of ideas now. ]
no subject
[GUESS SHE NEVER ENCOUNTERED THAT BEFORE...Although speaking of someone with strong teeth, she's pretty sure America could eat a rock.]
I'm not experienced with some of these candies, this in particular.
[She picks up the candy corn.] I know it is an American treat that only comes out around Halloween.
no subject
[ Sheba lets out a sigh of relief. She was going to question whether or not Vietnam was actually a different species with the appearance of a human since her diet seems... out of this world. There wasn't any problem with that though!
It's just... really interesting. (Although Sheba probably wasn't too far off on Vietnam not being completely human.)
She smiles a little and then points at the candy corn that's been selected from the bunch. ]
That's fine, this will be our number one suspect!
[ Yes! They are one step closer to finding their culprit! ]
no subject
But look at that, somewhere, the gods are smiling upon them and giving them a hint. Too bad that they're only taking a blind guess.]
Alright! We should pick one nonetheless.
Now how do we...test this...
[Aside from eating it themselves. Which is bad.]
no subject
[ Okay, despite everything that's happened, she can't help the fact that she's feeling hungry. Very hungry. But when stress builds up, she especially has the urge to eat. Unfortunately, all this stupid party had to offer were drinks and candy.
Her stomach is gurgling too, if that's another clear indication of it.
It's really risky to have anyone else eat it, and since she's already experienced the effects, Sheba would immediately know if they guessed wrong or not. ]
I... can test it out if necessary.
no subject
No wait!
[That was actually a little bit too loud, but she can tell that Sheba is hungry from the noises she made. But--]
You've already had to endure the side effects, and it made you ill. While you have been weakened by its effects, you shouldn't sacrifice yourself. It may make it worse.
[How heroic! But really, Sheba should be sleeping it off, even if she's already been affected. To let it happen again is something Vietnam cannot do under her watch.]
