dad squad unite!!!! and the thoughts aren't all that terrible... while he can't really appreciate sans' jokes, he can certainly tell that there's something behind that comedian's smile and laziness that makes sans a responsible person (and something else... but that's just a hunch). the fact that he's one of frisk's friends is a good mark on him already, and he's certainly interested in monsters of the non-pocket variety that inhabit their world.

honestly, otome's a little bit of a lifesaver. if she wasn't so persistent in getting him to stop keeping things hidden, he'd probably be a lot more cloistered off from colony interactions! she's someone that he trusts, and not a lot of people have that. he's a fairly private person, and while that continues to be true, he'd be more inclined to tell her about something that might be bothering him than the average person. also he kind of worries about her a lot and hopes that she's getting enough sleep????? pls friend don't collapse he doesn't want to scold her because she'll scold back and that's scary
