Mm. It used to be a rather closely guarded ability where I'm from as well. Those that could use it lived in a community on the mountain, using their gifts to help the people there. [Though it was a different ability (though Yuri still has that too) and used in a way she's not sure most would approve of. Helping people be comfortable enough to commit suicide and taking on their memories and all in that moment seems okay until you start thinking about it too much.] Outsiders weren't allowed on the mountain unless they were seeking the women for their abilities. Sometimes the ability would manifest outside the mountain, and those women would be taken in.

[Yuri shrugs lightly.] ...It's not like that anymore.
