So to expand on this awkward train, Ai is definitely reminded of her clone twin when she's with Hiro, except that he's a dude and ultimately she can actually tell that he's incredibly friendly in a way that endears her to him (cause her twin in comparison is a butt). Her no-nonsense side actually seems to show up more around him probably due to his joking nature and her values on sincerity and so Ai isn't afraid to stand up to him. That or they're just kids and around Hiro, she ironically feels normal with him. Like, she imagines that in another lifetime if they weren't hip supernatural teens with cool powers, they'd still be friends.

Except neither of them are normal and the both of them are still holding onto things they've yet to reveal to a lot of people, much less each other. It's kind of funny that they both have issues about being human; whereas Hiro struggles with accepting that he's not fully human, Ai has been mostly dead set about being nothing but human even with all of her power. In the end, she funnily enough, feels very human around Hiro and that's probably why she likes him.

... Yeah, speaking of like, she's... getting kind of aware that she feels differently towards him. Like the realization is slow to dawn upon her and it's new and weird and not in a bad way she hopes!? Being pounce-hugged was strange and unsettling and yeah these are just foreign waters Ai's treading and yet she can't help but feel the tenacity to see where things go.
