[You know who else is deeply engaged in doing chores at this moment? Souji has hardly interacted with others of his own age at all, isolated by well-meaning sisters, and the last thing he remembers he was tasked with doing the chores around the dojo he was recently handed to. So since he barely knows how to play at all, and since this is the place he's apparently meant to stay right now... well, what else is he supposed to do?

Having piled fresh laundry as high as physically possible in his arms, however, he doesn't really notice the even shorter and scrawnier boy until it's too late. As they collide, the pile wobbles in his arms, and Haru is showered in all manner of articles of clothing, all of it cascading to the floor. Souji, his whole body a flinch by now, appears nailed to the spot despite his desperate urge to flee.]

I- I'm sorry. I couldn't see you. I'm sorry.

[ haru blinks from where he's fallen, as expressionless as always. for a moment or two, he's not sure what to do. after all, while he goes to school and he's accustomed to children around his age, he has nothing in common with any of them, and they don't really talk to him.

still, this boy lives with haru and the swords, so they're.. family. right? in a way, at least.

he climbs to his feet, reaching out and lifting souji's hands until his arms are parallel to the ground. he then begins to pick up the laundry, laying it piece by piece over the other boy's arms until he has a large--but comfortable--load. the rest is bundled up into his own arms, and he nods his head toward his bedroom. there's a literal boogeyman that lives in his closet, but he's not that bad for a nightmare. on top of that, he doesn't take up much space-- which means that haru and souji will have more room to finish up the laundry. ]
