Athena looks up to Vietnam as an older sister of sorts! She was so excited to get to know Vietnam after learning that the latter is good friends with Ryuko, and she's glad she took the chance of introducing herself to Vietnam because otherwise, Athena wouldn't have anybody to look up to.

Aside from that, she holds so much respect towards Vietnam for saving her life. Respect and a shitton of gratitude is most of what Athena has for Vietnam. Vietnam is able to hold herself well on her own, and that's really cool. Hopefully, Athena can be like her someday!

She also likes that she can talk to Vietnam openly about a lot of things, especially when asking for advice on how to cook, or romantic stuff. They barely know each other, but she just finds Vietnam so easy to talk to.

That said, post-interrogation, she respects Vietnam even more for coming along and doing something so risky. Athena may not be able to do much, but she wants to protect Vietnam at all costs now because nobody has to suffer and go through the same things she does.
