THE BEST PART IN ALL OF THIS is that he's actually pretty happy to defer to other people, and absolutely doesn't see this as an upper-hand sort of anything (because he's JUST oblivious enough). HE LIKES HAWKE A LOT mostly because she's just taken his bullshit in stride so far, and not too many people do that.

She just lets him hug it out. Literally. And no one has really done that since before his mentor died and WOW EVERYTHING IS SAD??? Basically, what I'm saying is that he looks up to her, despite having...very little reason to do so, aside from holy shit, dragons, which, admittedly, isn't NOTHING. She (seemingly) has her head pretty firmly on her shoulders; please teach him how to take all of this bullshit in stride, senpai?

Zack is alternately filled with a lot of regret and shame and a little bit scared, honestly? He can take a hit just fine, but taking a hit when he knows he kind of earned it? It's a little different.

He feels terrible, honest! He's touchy-feely, sure, but he's definitely not a hugger-without-permission. TL;DR: awkward and tentative avoiding, because how exactly do you apologize for something THAT WEIRD?

Zack really likes Vietnam, and they haven't even talked about flowers yet! She's pretty, she takes his really dumb reflexive flirting in stride (maybe a little accidentally, but whatever), and she's nice, which is...rare, lately. She's got a lot of tenacity and drive which are things Zack really appreciates in other people, and it helps that she's basically declared that she would be on the damsel rescuing end of this relationship, and IT'S JUST REALLY FUCKING CUTE???

Zack really likes Jaune, okay? Their interactions are easy, they're fun, they feel right, mostly because it reminds him of the best parts of home without that pesky maybe-never-seeing-it-again thing. Even with Cloud removed from the picture, Jaune reminds him a lot of the bright-eyed cadets that really just need the right push before they can learn how to fight for themselves, and he's perfectly willing to do this, despite their scant interactions. It's the right thing to do. Might as well put all of that training to some kind of good use, right?

Okay well one; I suck at replying on time, so that's a thing.

ANYWAY. Zack is really divided on Edgeworth, and it's mostly because he can't really seem to get a decent read of him (mostly Zack's own fault in all cases). There is a respect there, even outside of the snapping drawn out by a too-stressful situation and too much leniency with authority back home, and while he may not be very conscious of it (because it would require him to sit still and think about it), he does appreciate that SOMEONE HERE at least seems to have a relative voice of reason, and a calm one at that. Edgeworth reminds him a lot of his superiors (gee) though he's yet to realize the extend of that too.

Basically, someone needs to sit the puppy down sternly, Edgeworth does so, and Zack is (plurk unsure face) about it.
