She probably would at some point... right now most of her cues for dealing with stepford smilers were learned from Yuya, who is an actual sweetheart, so she'll need to adjust them once she realizes "no, all of this flipflopping he's doing is probably because he's full of shit...." Because she's noticed the former, but just didn't have enough experience to suspect him of anything.

No, she didn't notice that he's not being honest, that was just a hypothetical. What she noticed in their thread was that he was being kinda wishy washy. (He contradicted himself a few times in the thread, but she didn't have a reason to think it was anything more than that.)

Ahhh, gotcha!^^ Yeah, he really was because he was still that out and caught on the wrong foot with the whole intro events paired with the Heartland bombdrop. Staying in character was a challenge he didn't really wanted to bother with. (Though her asking him about it later again is totally welcomed!)
