...Well, I've never...er, I've never even been on a date.
[ HE'S...HE'S FINE WITH JUST FRIENDS.
Besides, the whole murder school is a thing he has to, you know, work through. ]

[ She gets a relieved smile from Naegi, even if technically they could be using these seven minutes to talk to, like. New people. ]
Kirigiri-san! Have you met anyone interesting so far?

[Lee leans forward and shouts.]
Then you must start!! Right now! Your youth won't last forever, young man!!

[IT'S A SKILL...SHE HAS...it doesn't always work though, but she's been denying everything for so long it sometimes works out for her.
Right now she flushes just because this is a bold question and she can't escape.]
H-honestly, I have never considered the notion...I'm still inexperienced in these matters, so I am unsure if I have ever been interested in anyone. [Out of curiosity, yes, but they never lasted, nor does she remember.]

[She is really reluctant about asking this question, but...]
If people are demons, what does that make you?
If people are demons, what does that make you?
[England tilts his head, giving her a small smile. he's not going to push Vietnam into answering any more than that. she did not push him, after all]
I hope it finds you someday, then. Romance is a beautiful thing, and you would make someone very happy.

[Being able to read people by touch means that you have to learn from a very young age not to show anything on your face. Shiho's had tons of practice.
She's not sure how dating a country even worked...didn't that technically make it so that you were actually dating a million other people at the same time??]
Yeah...I can see how that could be really weird. But...who can you date, then? You do know that non-humans could be anything? Even zombies?

I can date other countries. [and England has] I mainly wanted to see what other beings were here. [were there zombies in Cerealia???]
[A personified country...dating another personified country...]
Doesn't that kind of limit your choices, then? Or are there a lot of personified countries running around here?
[She hadn't thought to look for countries. She'd always assumed they were just masses of land.]
And if your world is gone, how are you still here?

[yep. it's pretty crazy isn't it?]
That is a question I don't know the answer to yet. At one time, there were five of us here, so whatever happened, whether CERES found our code, or something else, they managed to salvage us.

[ She gives him a small smile in return. ]
No one particularly interesting. I'm sure I will come across someone eventually, though. What about you, Naegi-kun?

I guess that means maybe you're not tied to the land...and not to the people, either?
And if there were five, how do you split it up when you date? [A threesome? An open relationship?? And again: how does countries dating even work.....]

[England's not even going to respond to that second question. it makes his head hurt]
We are tied to the land and people... Well, we were. I don't know if that's the case now. [his heart feels so empty] I still want to protect any of my citizens that have been brought to Cerealia.

[He just skipped that second question.....that just makes her want to know the answer even more. But she can empathize with his desire to protect others, with suddenly being cut off from someone (or in his case, lots of someones) that you cared about.
So she let's that second question go for now.]
Probably not right now. But if you find any citizens here, I bet they'd still be tied to you somehow.
As long as they're actually from your version of the country, that is.

Yes, of course. [from his version of England. he nods] I have not found anyone like that yet.
[Curse her conscience.]
Well...I'm sure you will. Besides, people can immigrate, can't they? Just convince them to do that.

[Did he just dodge her question...
She lays her hand on the table, activating her psychometry and quickly figuring out the fastest way out of this restaurant.]
........don't you dare tell me that you're some kind of ghost.

I have spoken to a few people from other versions of England. Most of them don't know about me, though. But. Perhaps I'll tell them. in time. [he seems kind of wistful at that]
....Why is this a big secret, though?
[Her tone is judgmental (but then again when isn't she) but she genuinely wants to know.]
[Her tone is judgmental (but then again when isn't she) but she genuinely wants to know.]
[it's a valid question, so England doesn't mind her tone that much]
Not everyone has powers like you. What do you think would have happened if I'd started off by introducing myself as a country? People would have thought me mad. [England believes he would not have made friends...]

I don't think so. At most they'd probably ask you if you were sure. [Or they'd get disproportionately excited about a country being a person.] Besides, if they think you're mad at least they won't forget you in a hurry.
And you don't want your relationships to be built on a lie.

I believe you may be more of an optimist than myself. When America and Russia were here, they were very open about who they were, and I watched as many people did not take them seriously.
[then again, they were America and Russia]
[then again, they were America and Russia]
[Shiho...an optimist....she never thought she'd see the day when someone called her that. (Though she is one, despite being a psychometer and despite knowing that quite a lot of people were garbage on the inside. She blamed Minamoto and his ability to make them all believe in the best, and in the future.)]
It doesn't matter if they don't take them seriously though, does it? Why is that important to you?
It doesn't matter if they don't take them seriously though, does it? Why is that important to you?
It does when you're trying to make a new life for yourself. [this subject of conversation is difficult for England, because he does care what people think of him, even when he says he doesn't] After talking to a few people here, I realized, what I was back at home doesn't matter anymore. I was immortal, had a better job, and any luxury I could ever want. Here, I have none of that. My status is gone.
