I AM HERE FOR THIS!!!!

Kaoru and Mary first since that's the shortest... Mary falls under the category of "all right acquaintance but not very useful", which means that while Kaoru doesn't mind spending time with her just to shoot the shit or whatev (ala the tea visit), he also won't go out of his way to befriend her and get involved in her life. Basically, it's the best spot anyone can be at when it comes to being friends with Kaoru... I don't even think this will change if he ever learns that Mary and Tenka are close, because just being in her good opinions book is good enough for him. SO basically he wouldn't mind hanging out with her again but won't go out of his way for it.

I think I've already mentioned that personality-wise Kaoru actually likes her as much as he can like any given person and that hasn't really changed either, though that's more because they just haven't talked a whole lot lately. But she's sweet and has a relatively mild temperament and she seems easy to impress so ?!? really, what's not to like. I feel like, if he ever did learn about her backstory, he'd probably dislike her a little though... because he's nuts..... BUT OBVIOUSLY he understands what it's like to suffer through loss just by not being human, except when he runs into people who know the same suffering, he expects them to handle and deal with it the same way and gets immensely jealous of the people who managed to dig their way out of the Hate Pit. SO THAT'S A POSSIBILITY...

As far as Yang and Naoi go, HE LIKES HER. In his weird dumb tsun way... Like, he'd never actually admit to being friends because he's a socially inept moron, but they totally are and he really does view her as one. Especially now that he knows they can go out and be PUNCHING BUDDIES together or whatever weird training shit it is that they do. "Training"... really they're just looking for a joint excuse to smash things with their fists, good work team.

He really likes her personality! She's warm and energetic and fun to be around, and she's always hype about things which he appreciates because he comes from a place where EVERYONE IS GOING AT 110% ALL THE TIME. So, basically, being around her kind of reminds her of the idiots back home, who he misses even if he'd also never admit that. She seems like the kind of person who'd take no shit and hold no prisoners too though, which is a trait that he respects, being turbo-driven himself and all.

That said, he actually doesn't know... anything about her... HE'D LIKE TO LEARN MORE, but he's from a place where everyone just sort of divulges their backstory whenever they feel ready, so he's not really used to having to ask questions and find things out that way. So his lack of asking about her isn't because he's disinterested; it's just because he's used to doing things differently. Eventually he'll figure out that he'll actually have to like, ask things?! GOD. Yang, making everything hard. But he'll do it, because they're ~friends~... ALSO Naoi would totally have her back if she ever got into trouble - considering he's fought alongside her once already and all, this probably isn't surprising - but he's well aware of the fact that she can take care of herself too. Like she could probably kick danger in the kneecaps before he even had a chance to show up, so he's not worried... FISTICUFF BUDDIES CONTINUING ONWARD AND UPWARD INTO THE FUTURE.

Oz and Mary, okok... Oz is so endeared by Mary, it's ridiculous. SHE'S JUST SO SWEET and kind and nice and fun to spend time with, and she's always trying so hard to help people around her and to improve herself which he honestly thinks that's one of the most admirable traits a person can have - this willingness to self-improve. He's still slightly concerned by her thinking that she "owes" him for the times he's helped her out though, but that's more because of his own personality than anything she's done. Like, he enjoys helping people! He wants to lend a hand where he can, so he feels bad if other people end up feeling indebted because of that, even though he knows that isn't really what's going on in Mary's case.

ALSO while he was like "haha aw(???)" about the ten pairs of legs thing at the time, he's aware of the fact that social anxiety to that degree is usually caused by something, whether it's isolation or bullying or some degree of a traumatic experience. SO... He definitely thinks there's more going on with Mary than what she talks about openly, but he hasn't really gotten around to trying to talk to her about it since none of their conversations really lean in that direction. He's not just gonna mid cakepop be like "SO WHY ARE YOU AFRAID OF PEOPLE??"... though he does offer quiet encouragements and things like that whenever she shows a little less hesitance around crowds or when meeting strangers or w/e, since he thinks that's something she could probably use regardless of what her reasons for that tension may be.

Also along the lines of things he wants to talk about but hasn't yet: HER POWERS?? He's seen them in action obviously, and even though he would have Mary's back in a heartbeat, he knows that she can probably defend herself at least a little (but he'd rather come to her aid like a gallant knight!!!!), but... She didn't offer up any more information about how she froze that bug in the hall, and because he of all people knows the delicate nature of topics like that, he didn't press. He's still really curious though and thinks about it sometimes, just like "wtf was even going on there??"

Even though he does want to eventually talk about some of the more complex things with her, his favorite thing is still just hanging out with her and getting... ten thousand different foods.... they are literally always eating, it's incredible. But he likes sharing things he enjoys with other people and he likes finding things that his friends enjoy, so he's really gungho on showing Mary around to all of his favorite places!! They just largely happen to be food places?! He's not trying to fatten you up Mary, he promises. He just loves it when she tries something he's suggested and ends up liking it and he probably makes dumb faces all the time like his icon, basically. He wants to show her more things that aren't food related someday but most of the things he does on the daily are stupid and/or work+school sO..... though if Mary is going to school too they clearly need to meet up at some point, since Oz probably loudly says hi to her every time he sees her in the hall and sits with her at lunch when he's not pestering Ciel etc.

He also still feels a little badly that she had felt so badly about the way she acted during the last event... because it wasn't really that bad at all!! OR LIKE, comparatively, anyway... considering he also had to deal with people trying to set him on fire and stab him, and also considering he has the dokis for bossy ladies apparently?! OZ. He probably blushed his stupid head off that day trying to carry her apple-y weight around.

SO YES, Mary's a lovely friend and he adores her and thinks she's the cutest thing ever but he wants to know more!! He just has to figure out how, since, I mean. He isn't exactly used to situations where he sits down and talks to people about things like that. Serious conversations only happen in PHland when people are about to die okay, this is new and hard. BUT HE'LL WORK ON IT FOR MARY'S SAKE!!! And in the meantime just continue to throw flowery cakepops in her direction.
