Ah, yes. Yang was one of the first people Edgeworth ever met here and she saved his bacon. While he tried to return the favor, it didn't take long for her to need to save his bacon yet again. Even though he has seen how able she is in battle and how well she fights, that doesn't stop him from worrying about her safety and feeling that he is obligated to keep an eye on her. As a gentleman (and as a big brother figure maybe HAHAHA or a father figure because he thinks she's younger than she looks), he should lend her assistance in battle or out of it.

Though he worries about the kind of trouble she could get herself into and wishes he could veto all her potentially dangerous and questionable choices, the other side of him will admit that she is capable and while she messes around sometimes, she can get down to business and defeat the Huns and be very useful in investigations and stuff. Plus, it helps that they both agree that Ruby must be kept out of trouble and that this place is bananas and the CEO is likewise bananas. So they are on the same wavelength for certain things.
