america ➝ vietnam: VIETNAM MAKES AMERICA SO UNCOMFORTABLE, IT'S HILARIOUS. the vietnam war is one of the few wars he's lost and on top of that one of the few wars that made the collective opinion of the united states go down in the toilet. she's the embodiment of his fuck ups! so whenever he sees her, everything in him sort of locks up and he reverts back into a polite little boy and/or he has sudden amnesia over Certain Events. he doesn't even get on her case about being a communist because he just... can't... handle being wrong again about her or fucking up about it. he's not totally willing to spend one on one time with her but he's too polite to ever turn her down and uncomfortable with the idea of looking bad in front of her again.
