When I wrote that tag about Yang being Yata's goal, I completely forgot that he called Mikoto his goal, too. Jeez. Let's use that as a springboard for this, though. Yata was trying to find his way after losing HOMRA when he arrived, so while it wasn't easy shifting gears, it was easier for him to depend on others and find his strength in them. He thought that Yang was super cool, unreal and larger than life—like a hero, right? If he emulated that, he thought he could find himself again and be stronger! For HOMRA!!

As time went on, he learned that Yang was also human. And he still is! It's hard to believe when she doesn't seem to have any weaknesses, so he keeps finding himself looking up to her and relying on her, so the relationship is a little imbalanced in that regard. HE'S SUCH A KID, SORRY. But that's what Mikoto's been to him this entire time - a role model, a mentor... But unlike with Mikoto, he understands Yang more. When she told him about how helpless she felt when Seren died, he didn't see her as super cool supa hot fire Yang, haha. She was just Yang, his friend. And that's a huge leap from Mikoto-san part 2. She made him reevaluate how he understood Mikoto and people in general.

But Yata has always regarded her as a friend ever since she got mad about it that one time. He's just tsun about it because god, he doesn't know how to handle her sometimes. She's so friendly... But you can tell he trusts her a lot now because he's less OMG IT'S A GIRL around her. She keeps teasing him though, so it's not that obvious, haha. Apparently he's comfortable enough with her to send her emotes and ask her what they mean, but he still runs from her whenever she tries to tackle and hug him. Actually, we should thread that. Why have we not done this. Kia.

Sometimes it seems like he has a crush on her, but he only acts that way because he's so lonely at this point... God. He wouldn't know he was crushing on someone unless someone pointed it out. (Yang) I think I'm forgetting something important. I'll just add to this later when I remember things, lmao.
