Mary piques Shirasu's interest first and foremost because she's adorable and he is fond of kids. She seems younger than fourteen, and excitable so that's entertaining, but it also makes him want to be protective and just nice to her. Also, she didn't do too badly with regard to him while they were both tarot-influenced. She used him, sure, but she used him to... go buy candy.
He doesn't know about her ability, and he'd be a little wary of it but I doubt he'd hold it against her.
