I think the reason Shin-Ah felt comfortable around Natalia at first was because she kind of has a similar presence to Yona? They're obviously not the same person but there is a sort of resemblance Shin-Ah zoomed in on and felt comfortable with because Yona's the only one who's managed to get Shin-Ah to open up a little. But right away after the initial meeting, Shin-Ah liked Natalia for being Natalia and not because she's similar to Yona. He didn't find her forwardness off-putting at all and he was SO SO GLAD she bought him food and was fine with his behavior. Shin-Ah is not dumb, he knows he's quiet and that it can be difficult for people to understand him because of that? BUT NATALIA REALLY DOESN'T MIND AND IS SUPER PERCEPTIVE of what he wants to get accross and it's a weight off of Shin-Ah's shoulders.
He's also kind of in awe that she trusted him with her secret? Her being a princess is not a big deal to him at all (because his world view is still kind of limited so he doesn't see the full consequences of positions of power yet and Yona isn't really a conventional princess so he doesn't know what a princess does in the first place) BUT he knows being a princess is important and since Yona's keeping her status secret, Shin-Ah understands that Natalia also wants to keep a low profile. And the fact that she trusted him with the information left him with confused but fuzzy feelings.
But he's also really worried about her? Since their second meeting was mostly Natalia being tired and stressed out, Shin-Ah worries that this is kind of her default mode. Shin-Ah knows that he's not used to people so he mostly lingers in the background and watches but with Natalia, he actively wants to make sure she's relaxed and has her moments of downtime aka the reason he made tea and draped the fur over her shoulders.
Those two things combined really make Shin-Ah want to keep an eye on her and protect her. He doesn't know how well Natalia can take care of herself (since he hasn't seen her fight) but verbally, Natalia can handle herself so he's not worried about that. But it's the overworking and trusting him with a secret which make Shin-Ah want to watch her to make sure Natalia remains healthy and unharmed. Especially because she's so, so kind and warm. Pushy, yes. But she has nothing but the best intentions in mind and Shin-Ah would hate to see her come to harm. He'd rather see her smile and laugh.
He does feel a little bad for getting away from her so quickly when she asked about the mask. She only meant well and she did drop the topic but he wishes he could have been gentler about it. It's a very conflicted feeling, Shin-Ah doesn't want Natalia close enough to ask about the mask since the mask is REALLY important to him on an emotional level but at the same time, he's slooooooowly getting to the point where he would tell her a little of the origins and reasons behind him wearing it other than “The mask is there for a reason.”
Shin-Ah is also glad that they've kind of become friends (maybe?? does Natalia want to be his friend??? he should figure that one out) because deep down, Shin-Ah still longs for friends. He has Yona, Hak, Yoon and the other dragons and he's grateful for them and he is content to only have them as his friends but he also wants Natalia to be his friend.
Because the feeling he gets when he sees Natalia is like a tiny ball of warmth and happiness in his chest...
(and her hugs are warm. She isn't afraid of him and that makes Shin-Ah as happy as it scares him. Because this means he could hurt her and he rather wouldn't.)
