Okay, gonna avoid rehashing canon. But I feel like something that I do need to say before I say.... literally anything else is that Tenka never thought that he and Sousei would ever be patched up like they are. Sousei accepted his apology and that was meaningful, okay, but then... they've come a long way since even that. They've caught up on each other's lives and the weird physical distance between them has been closed. Years ago when Tenka said he couldn't lead the Yamainu anymore, he thought that he lost Sousei. He thought that was it. He thought that Sousei was gone from his life and wouldn't be coming back - that's always the kind of kid that he was, so stubborn and so sure. So for them to even be able to chill on the couch on some days together, relaxed and not awkward - that's more than Tenka thought he would ever get the chance to have again because he thought he fucked it all up.
And y'know, he did, but Tenka always gets his way so he somehow got his best friend back anyway.
Because I guess it's just.... without Soramaru here, Sousei is literally the most important person to Tenka. Sousei is Tenka's confidant, his equal, the person that he trusts to have his back. aka the spot that Shirasu had for years except the difference here is that Tenka was the one that wronged Sousei and he's surprised every day that Sousei is still willing to stick around with him. (it actually does a number on Tenka's feelings toward Shirasu because if Souse's capable of forgiveness, maybe he should be too, but then he realizes that he's comparing two entirely different matters and betrayals) It's not even entirely just this sort of nostalgic feeling he has for his childhood best friend, but Sousei has honestly done a lot of Tenka. He's looked over Soramaru, he's watched over Chuutarou, he's searched for a way to remove the Orochi from the vessel-
He's changed. Sousei has changed and Tenka's noticed. There are the changes that's come out over 10 years, like Sousei leading the Yamainu and choosing to make his own decisions when it comes to them. He's taking his role as Captain so seriously and Tenka is both proud and very impressed, because he knows he was the one who put Sousei underneath those harsh conditions and yet Sousei just grew from them. Their parents died and Sousei suffered a betrayal from his childhood friend on top of that and yet... he's still walking forward. Tenka knows that Sousei's strength is the real deal. (and also that Kiiko helped a lot but that's okay, they'd both be lost without Kiiko)
then there are changes that have happened even since the met for the first time in canon. Sousei is choosing to stray from his orders from the government and no longer kill the Orochi, but has instead looked for a way to save the vessel? Sousei is looking after Soramaru and involving himself with the Kumous again? Sousei is still growing? . . . . . and Tenka has done absolutely nothing to make the connection that it might be because of his death, LAUGHS.
Tenka has no idea how highly Sousei thinks of him. Tenka doesn't even really understand why Sousei sticks around with him. Is it childhood nostalgia? Is it out of some weird promise he made with Soramaru or Taiko? Is it because this partner thing is just what they're used to? god, he has no clue. but he also knows that they're partners and that means that they're together again and.... well, yeah. That's all Tenka needs to know to feel secure. He never questioned why Sousei was okay with being his vice captain or why Sousei refuses to leave him behind. It's just.... Sousei. and Tenka takes him for granted subconsciously, even though consciously he acknowledges how happy he is that they're not going to be separated again
because every time Sousei reacts strongly to Tenka possibly dying or being taken away, Tenka knows that he can't leave Sousei behind again. It's a priority. It's something that he feels so certain about that he wouldn't sacrifice himself for any reason but Soramaru and Chuutarou - just because he doesn't want to leave Sousei alone. their relationship really hasn't changed from that first panel of Sousei walking off, annoyed, and Tenka, still fascinated, putters off after him. They're kind of just a set package.
but they're equals now. Tenka was willing to let Sousei take the lead for a while to get him to stop dragging his feet but now they're back to equally sharing burdens and Tenka knows how important it is that he and Sousei are on the same page, because they really do have goals that they want to accomplish back home. Tenka's brothers are still the source of his strength and the reason why he keeps going, but Sousei's involvement now is like the fire under his ass to keep him from moping for too long.
with things like bringing him video games to distract him

Tenka's emotions on Shirasu are the mixed things in the world. they're jumbled and confusing and Tenka is only aware of some of them.
but to start off, Tenka doesn't hold grudges. he tries very hard to judge people based on who they are now in that current time. like when the doctor asks Tenka how he feels about Shirasu and what he thinks about his lineage, Tenka thinks that the Fuuma are dead and therefore Shirasu shouldn't be judged based on his family or his past. that's not fair. Instead, Shirasu is Tenka's friend solely because Tenka's been taken care of by Shirasu for all those years. it's part of Tenka's natural philosophy that he takes people as they are and judges them based on their actions and even then, he gives them the benefit of the doubt.
except ever since he's arrived, Shirasu's been a struggle to deal with. Tenka trusted Shirasu for so long and he felt betrayed when he heard that the Fuuma had resurfaced and then that Shirasu was working for the Orochi, but he was willing to hear him out. but then Shirasu started his secret-keeping and the thing is that Tenka can't really judge that.... sort of. he's a secret keeper himself but Shirasu has always, always been the exception to that and every time Shirasu told him that Tenka can ask but there's no guaranteed answer, he gets mad. Tenka gets mad because he hates that he still wants to rely on Shirasu like they were before but this relationship isn't equal anymore. they used to stand next to each other proudly and had each other's backs, but now Tenka feels like he can barely tell Shirasu anything because it might jeopardize other people
because Tenka doesn't think Shirasu would ever hurt him. Even now, Tenka has noticed how Shirasu goes out of his way to avoid causing him injury or anything more than temporary pain. But Tenka never thinks in terms of himself (even now that he's made the decision that he wants to stay alive more than anything else). He thinks in terms of the people around him and when he considers the people he's closest to, he sees Mary, Oona, Lily, Kagemitsu, Nishiki, and Sousei. He doesn't know that Mary knows Shirasu but the rest of them do. and Lily knows that Tenka and Shirasu are friends and he's so afraid that if Lily trusts Shirasu, it'll be because Tenka perpetuated it. and there's nothing protecting Lily from being betrayed. the same goes for Sousei and it's clear that Shirasu and Sousei don't even like each other. but Tenka doesn't like that. he understands, but he doesn't like it.
and if it came down to it, if Shirasu hurt Sousei, that'd be the end of the line because Sousei's the most important person to Tenka in Cerealia at this point. and the biggest threat to Sousei is Shirasu and Tenka's not sure how to reconcile that in his head.
because now that Tenka's realized that Shirasu has put his family in so much jeopardy, Tenka just... doesn't trust Shirasu with his family, including his adopted kids. Oona, Lily, Mary, and Hinata in particular are close to Tenka's heart and having them even be near Shirasu makes him nervous because one day they might disappear because of Shirasu too. like even when they're having tea, Tenka probably doesn't mention any of them because he doesn't want Shirasu to even look at them too closely. it's only half-conscious but Shirasu's raised so many alarms at this point that he's partially entered the realm of people that Tenka hides things from, for the sake of the safety of others
but at the same time, he's still just. Someone that Tenka is used to interacting with. So sometimes Tenka slips and will say things about what he's feeling and lets his emotions show than he normally does with others. but he's still lost his spot at Tenka's confidant because of what he's done. Tenka just still hasn't forgiven Shirasu and he doesn't know how to because Tenka's family means the entire world to him. He doesn't know how to feel about Shirasu throwing them away and yet still trying to have a place in their life.
Tenka wants Shirasu to be in his life and thinks he needs to make up for his sins. The one struggle with this is that being part of Tenka's life means also involving yourself with everyone else that Tenka cares about and he honestly doesn't trust Shirasu with their well-being anymore. Not when Shirasu's been the main cause of Tenka losing family so far.
yet there's still a piece of his heart that wants to trust Shirasu and he misses him and wants him back in his life but Tenka is honestly smart enough to know that it's just not that easy. He can't let Shirasu in that close again and he's going to try his hardest to keep it from happening.

Oz and Natalia ;
Natalia thinks Oz is really endearing to be honest. Her feelings on him aren't complicated - except for one part. She just wants to know where he knows her from and what that situation entails. Oz, Patchouli, and Anise all seem to recognize her from that place and she doesn't understand it and she's not a fan! So she's going to keep.... gently asking and waiting to see if he'll tell her one day and if he doesn't, she'll probably just give up on being nice about it and think that - well, if it was her life, then she deserves to know about it!! (Except Archer did bring up the notion of parallel worlds to her so she also has a theory that maybe it's something like that. It's weird. She gets a headache if she thinks about it too much.)
But otherwise, she thinks Oz is sweet. He's a friend and someone who fusses over her and she thinks it's endearing. It's like he's considerate but only the limit of what's appropriate.... and that's pretty typical for nobility. But he does consider her as a person first - she has no idea if he knows if she's a princess so she's going to conveniently NEVER BRING IT UP OF HER OWN VOLITION - and she always thinks that's very kind of people since she's used to being treated as a royal before anything else. She's happy to teach him things about first aid and worry about him because that's just what friends do!
That said, she has noticed a bit that he has a habit of.... bouncing back really well...... it's all at once impressive and something that she's vaguely concerned about. Yeah!

FIRST AND FOREMOST THE THING THAT I DO NOT GET TO WRITE IN MY TAGS ALL THAT OFTEN: Tenka is actually holding himself back with Kaoru a lot - and by that I mean considering how much time they spend together, how kind Kaoru has been, and how easily Tenka enjoys people who talk about their families and their hometowns and do good tasks for others, Tenka probably would've entertained the idea of dating Kaoru by now. except Tenka's dates are literally still really shallow but he does think that anyone who gets to marry Kaoru would be lucky!!
except except the thing is that Tenka and Sousei are really, really good at the "unspoken understanding" thing now and registering little cues from each other even when they're engaged in conversation with another person. So Sousei acts weirdly around Kaoru and treats him differently than how Sousei is with.... well like, Shinpachi and Sano for example. and Tenka picked up on that, even though he doesn't know why yet. but it doesn't keep him from hanging out with Kaoru simply due to the fact that Sousei will speak up on things that he's concerned about when he has enough evidence because at that point, they might seriously hurt Tenka!! and Tenka knows that. The fact that Sousei acts weirdly around Kaoru is just probably based off of a hunch or a feeling but nothing grounded yet, so Tenka trusts that Sousei will bring it up properly if anything does happen.
but yes, that weird acknowledgement that for some reason his partner doesn't seem to like Kaoru much or otherwise acts strangely around him is reason enough for Tenka to not think about pursuing a relationship with Kaoru deeper than friendship. (that said even Tenka's girlfriends never learn about his deep dark secrets so it's not like much has changed anyway??)
OTHERWISE this is why I say that Tenka has 98.9999% fallen for Kaoru's act. it's because he has. if anyone asked him, he'd say that Kaoru is a wonderful person and someone worth getting to know! he hasn't picked up at all that Kaoru is interacting with him mostly because Tenka is a good person to get close to if you want even more friends. so that much is a success because he's still totally singing Kaoru's praises to anyone besides Sousei and would probably defend Kaoru instinctively if anyone started talking shit!! (until someone dropped the bomb that Kaoru's a dude, but that's something that only the Shinsengumi can do) so there you go, Kaoru, you've got Tenka wrapped around your finger
because honestly Tenka is.... really really really fond of Kaoru already! like, Kaoru has only been completely helpful and sweet and innocent and wants to do good things for other people so what's the catch here? (a huge catch that Tenka can't see but whatever) Tenka melts whenever he sees those acts of kindness and he's especially caught off-guard when they're directed toward himself. whenever Kaoru offers to cook for them or brings him sunflowers or some shit he's basically a human pile of mush and super touched.
aka yes he's another one of those super sunny people who don't recognize his influence on others and that'll probably never change because that's part of Tenka's charm. he acts arrogant and haughty but he's really super humble so when Kaoru surprises him with kind gestures, he really is kind of like oH. OH WOW YOU'RE SUPER NICE TO ME...... and is really happy over it!!
there's only so many ways that I can write "Tenka adores Kaoru" tbh
but I'm just laughing because even if Tenka was aware of Kaoru's intentions, he wouldn't..... even be that mad. like he'd be most mad that Kaoru made him think that he was a really cute girl!!!! but otherwise.... Tenka doesn't care if people want friends? which is literally how Tenka would see it like - oh yeah, of course I'll introduce you to my friends? hE'S SO OPEN-HEARTED AND DUMB, SOMEONE COME SAVE HIM
But in truth for right now it's literally just.... adoration and affection!! Kaoru is probably one of the people here that reminds Tenka a lot of the villagers back home - aka people that seem to like him a lot and do nice things for him and therefore he feels the need to protect them. but also not close enough for Tenka to even think about sharing his deep dark secrets with just because he's Tenka and you'll need to rip those things out of his literally cold, dead hands.

another case of Tenka's absurd amount of platonic, familial love. Except it's harder to compare to his love for the kids in the village because Oona's a bit older than them, but he still cares for her just as much in terms of wanting to take care of her and making sure that she's happy and safe whenever possible. but basically she alerted his aniki senses really fast.... as soon as she started stumbling over her words and being unsure how to convey her emotions to him, he basically switched gears and wanted to help her. it only became more prevalent when she told him that she's a mermaid and not.... even a part of this human culture and yet she's trying to adapt to it!!
but it's part of why he loves talking to her so much. learning about her background and her family and how everything works where she came from - because that's what Tenka does!! he relates to people on the emotional level and he treasures his family above all else. so Oona feeling so strongly about hers and wanting to go back to them so badly that she cried over it...... he understood because he feels the same thing every single day but he can't cry. so he let her cry for both of them and just held her close and made a promise in his heart that he'll return her to them one day.
because Tenka's mad.... about what happened to her. he doesn't even understand it completely, but he can grasp her hatred of humans because of what was done to her. He thinks that if he didn't have the village and his brothers to smile and stay happy for, he would've even adopted a similar attitude. so he wants to be there for Oona the same way that his brothers and the villagers were there for him. He wants to be her warmth and the source of her strength and her happiness, even though it's selfish of him to think that. But if he can be even slightly as successful as his brothers were for him, then that's all he needs.
Otherwise, he's only off-put by her nonchalance toward killing and hurting other people because those people also have families. Tenka hates killing but he's capable of forgiving those who do it..... and he knows that Oona's a special case. regardless, he's always going to try to caution her away from it, just because that's how he is and how he thinks. He doesn't blame her for wanting to inflict pain on others, not at all, but god it hurts him to see her do it. if only because he fears that one day she may regret it - if she ever realizes that not all humans are truly as bad as she thinks. he may pull the card out one day "what if our circumstances were different and you killed me before you got to know me?" but he's trying to keep that from happening for as long as possible
because in truth, as important as those serious discussions are, he just... wants to see her smile. like I just posted on the hot or not, Tenka loves her smile. He loves how beautiful she is when she finds something that interests her and catches her attention. he loves how she's so uniquely herself even when it's not in line with human culture, even if sometimes her culture gives him a headache. Tenka just sincerely and genuinely loves her like family and wants to protect not only her life but also her happiness. god, he'd fight tooth and nail for even a chance at her being really, truly happy
because it doesn't matter to him if they're not the same species or not of the same mindset when it comes to valuing human life because she really is just. his precious little sister.

but well, first off, she is really grateful to him for cooking and baking for her. Because the food is really good and up to par with cuisine that she's had in the castle and that's already a plus. Probably when he's cooking, she holds her tongue a bit more and refrains from egging him on and snapping him simply due to the fact that he keeps her fed so she doesn't have to eat her own disastrous meals and it's good. Out of everyone in Cerealia, I actually think that Archer is the one she sees on the most frequent basis simply because he's gotten into her kitchen.
that said, the way they met totally colored Natalia's impression of him and will continue to. like - he was so rude (in her eyes) and insolent and she wanted to slap him..... she was able to openly snap with him in their first meeting and huffed a lot and it literally shoved their CR in a direction where Natalia is more honest with Archer than she is with most people. like she's the type to speak her mind on a normal basis but with Archer, she'll give her opinion on anything and everything and won't hesitate to taunt him if she sees the opportunity tbqh. she's still very proper around him because that's just how she is but she's more unrestrained in what she says and how she says it, if it makes sense
but that said, she can acknowledge that he is wise. he's kind of like a fortune cookie in the sense that he's lived so many lives and will randomly throw advice and it's up to you if you want to take it or not and Natalia sometimes doesn't want to take it just because he's a dick!!!! ..... but she'll acknowledge that what came out of his mouth was a smart thing. and she respects his decision and honestly is glad that he decided not to kill shirou..... now that she knows more about his past, she understands a bit more and while she doesn't think that it excuses his rudeness, she respects his choices and is willing to let them be. she doesn't think it's a surprise that he wanted to kill shirou but she would fully admit that she'd be sad if archer didn't exist. he's an asshole but he's an asshole that she cares about, whether she'll ever freely admit it or not
also whenever he automatically picks up on her expectations and goes to make tea just because she mentions tea is when she likes him the most for the record
she likes him the least when he shoves her out of her own kitchen how very dare
oh also she agrees with yang that archer is hot but it's a pity that he chooses to talk sometimes

okay despite their.... really awkward first thread, Natalia likes Lee. SHE UNDERSTANDS THAT HE NORMALLY IS NOT SO BRUTISH AND PIG-HEADED AND MOSTLY NAKED, so that's okay. He's okay. He has managed to escape the normal first impression woes. Except she does remember that even when he was under the effect of the card, he was surprisingly easy to lead around once she snapped at him enough, so that works in his favor, HAHA. consciously, Natalia thinks it's impressive that his normal character is reasonable enough to break through even the effects of this world, but subconsciously she just likes it when people listen to her......
AS FOR RIGHT NOW, she admires Lee!! She's not sure what it's like to be a ninja who can't do typical ninja things, but she can imagine that it takes a lot of hard work to still stand among them and be considered strong. so for him to get where he is through sheer hard work and determination is something that she thinks is very respectable indeed. honestly, if she ever does end up learning from him, she's a little nervous as to what kind of wringer he's going to put her through but she's all about pushing limits and trying new things so she'll at least give it a try. now he's still very humble about his work and is constantly thinking about ways to improve and she thinks that it's a wonderful thing to see. she only wishes him the best in his pursuit of strength and youth!!
..... except the youth really does confuse her a bit. he's very excited a lot of the time and she's regularly overwhelmed.... the offer to protect her was sweet and she appreciated it but also very sudden!! do you have a heroic streak, lee..... admittedly she does too but still. it was like a pleasant surprise but she's not always sure what to do when lee is suddenly a bundle of EXCITED FEELINGS. it's a little overwhelming and vaguely exhausting so she supposes it's just best to deal with him in small doses before she wears herself out trying to keep up
overall though, Lee is a good person to Natalia and someone she doesn't mind spending (reasonable amounts of) time with. even though she thinks his name is Rock. whatever.

but to actually write a response, Natalia's really curious about Shin-Ah!! like. almost more than anything else, she wants to know about him and figures it's going to be hard since he doesn't talk much and she's not the type to ask things out of the blue just to get to know someone, though if she's curious enough, she might resort to that!! Because even under the effects of the card, she didn't really think of him as suspicious at first - she's seen a lot of strange things in Cerealia and during that time as long as he had a shirt on then you know what, he wasn't hurting anyone by looking a little out of place - but just... different. His clothes, his mask, his fur piece, it's all so foreign to her and Natalia really is the most curious princess out there. she wants to ask him about his home, his family, his culture, how he can make tea better than her even though he doesn't know what ice cream is!! she's just.... so curious, honestly!
now she still worries about Shin-Ah, though. she hasn't seen him stand up for himself but since she was so rude and snappy with him before and he didn't fight back at all and he says he doesn't mind when people treat him unfairly, she was very concerned! so she's sort of taking it upon herself to make sure that whenever something bothers Shin-Ah, it's addressed. he's a very easy-going person and while she thinks that's very kind and wonderful of him, she also thinks that anyone who treats him badly therefore deserves to be kicked in the teeth - she just cares about Shin-Ah a lot already and would quickly get defensive of him especially because he seems so passive yet kind.
but the kindness is really what's been getting to her. like - Natalia didn't have many general friends before she started traveling with the Abyss party! everyone saw her as a princess among the nobles and she never really made friends with her people because she saw them as people she needed to take care of. but even among the Abyss party, they're all vaguely emotionally stinted and aren't the type to have touchy-feely nakama talks about friendship and goodness. that's more Graces jam. so when Shin-Ah offers her food and calls her kind and gives her his fur piece and makes her tea, she's touched..... he's very perceptive, from what she can tell, and notices what she's feeling (and it's easy since Natalia also wears her heart on her sleeve). but she really does think that Shin-Ah has a good heart. it's pure and sweet, always seeking to be as good of a friend as possible to the people around him.
also to some degree, she already trusts Shin-Ah. to a degree, he's the first person in cerealia that she willingly told about her identity as a princess. she normally keeps it out of conversation until it comes up and even though she could've left it alone with the 'castle' remark, she both felt paranoid enough that she wanted to make sure that he didn't mention it to anyone else somehow but also made the conscious decision to tell him the truth. because she already feels very safe with Shin-Ah, probably because he comes off as very honest and pure-hearted. like - she doesn't worry about her safety or her secrets when she's with him.
but he's still really mysterious in the sense that she hasn't seen his eyes and she likes looking people in the eye when she speaks to them. he hasn't let her see so far but she.... she really wants to know. which comes full circle to the curiosity.
overall though, Natalia just wants to be a good friend to Shin-Ah. he's kind and takes care of her and she wants to return the favor because it makes her feel all warm and happy inside whenever he's so abundantly sweet.
also he gives good hugs and she's a little sad that she doesn't feel comfortable giving out hugs anymore because he really is such a warm person........
also she just wants to keep giving him different kinds of food that he hasn't had before because he gets so cute and excited whenever he has something new
also Ao is precious and she's not surprised that someone as gentle and cute as Shin-Ah managed to tame a squirrel like honestly
