The Goddess is graceful to all; I merely wish to follow in Her footsteps. As She saw light in all, I too wish to extend all that same love.

Truly, though, do we mean everything we say? There is an interesting thought you bring up.

Most of the time you're lucky if someone means half of what they say. It's part of human nature. But that's why gods can be gods - they surpass that nature. Your Goddess included.

Is it wrong to strive for that purity of nature, as She said Her children should? It is no secret that I am not human, first off, so perhaps to ascribe 'human nature' to me is a bit strange. (Perhaps my actual nature would be clearer if I called myself a 'demi-god.') Regardless, even if I cannot reach Her level of grace, She is the model by which I carry myself.

You are not wrong, in any case; there are plenty of things I hide. [Everything from being a king to being an incorrigible pervert!] Perhaps the impression I give of myself is not the full picture, but rather the picture of the man I would like to be.
