[Jessica all but slumps into the floor, back against the stair railing and a hand pressed against her heart as she takes a deep breath.]

Thank goodness. I was about to lose my patience entirely. I doubt burning the stairs would have helped much though.

[Thankfully it didn't come to that. She stands after a moment, brushing off her skirt before she replies to Rock's meek smile with a brighter one of her own.]

Maybe now the stairs will let us go. I can't say I'm very keen on the idea of climbing them all over again.
