Shiho's first impression of Naminé is that she's a really sweet, nice girl. And so polite?? Even after making tons of latte art and probably serving a few disgruntled customers, she was still so nice...But then they got to talking and Shiho somehow just got very protective of her in the span of that conversation (she blames Minamoto). Because she recognizes that hesitance and that quietness and how Naminé is so unsure of herself despite how incredibly talented she is and can't shake the feeling someone (somewhere) bullied her before and the thought of it just pisses her off. So even though Shiho is capable of great feats of meanness, instead she just tries her very best to be as kind as she can, and to build her up and give her the confidence to stand and be herself. Because in so many ways, that reminds her of her best friends and of herself when she was little, and she wants to help in any way that she can.

Although teasing and complimenting her like she did before is obviously against the rules!! (It totally isn't, please continue to fluster her, Naminé.)

...Also she knows that you met Kaoru because her psychometry and her best friend both told her, so, yes, prepare yourself for friendship, Naminé.
