Rei on Athena?

Rei loves Athena. She values Athena more highly as she does anyone she's met in the colony except for Hiro and possibly Phoenix. Athena has been a real friend, and that's something Rei has precious few of, and she has a unique knack for making Rei feel wanted and needed. Maybe it's because she's constantly upset about something or crying, or just coming around. Or maybe it's because she keeps needing her ass bailed out of trouble. Rei doesn't mind any of that, because it's something she *can* do.

It does bother her though, that Athena seems to feel they aren't on even footing. The idea that she would need to be bailed out of a dangerous situation by her friend the lawyer is a little laughable and she definitely doesn't want Athena to be in that sort of situation. Or to be in a situation where Athena's the only person who can help her, because that's not her forte. She will absolutely take her as an attorney, but Rei definitely believes that she should stick to that and not try to get into fights. Even if she handled El Tigre pretty well.

That said, Athena's important, and Rei would gladly put her life on the line to keep her safe.
