But so far, Yusuke thinks he's a pretty solid guy! It's clear that they have the same viewpoint on their situation in Cerealia (which is basically ALL THESE GUYS SUCK, EVERYTHING SUCKS), but having someone who's upfront with how things are here and willing to help despite... interesting first appearances (Leon gets points for not making too much fun of his demon hair) is nice! Basically, Leon's cool in his book, and they need to get around to that city tour he promised him, since hanging out/bumming around the city like the dumb teenage boys they are is a necessity
also fun fact: apparently these two share anime dub voice actors and that's pretty hilariousno subject

Mabel seems like a kid with lots of charm and spunk in his book! In a sense, she's a little like Botan, but with less tendency to tease and scold and more likely to run headlong into something without thinking (like... jumping out of a tree without a second thought and messing up her feet), which is probably why he likes her!! Because impulse buddies, heck yeah!!! However, because she's young and definitely not spirit powered in anyway (never mind he started his own adventures when he was only a year older than she was), he's kind of... lowkey protective of her, in a big brother sort of way?? Her brand of optimism and energy is a nice breath of air in this place, so he doesn't really want anything bad to happen to her to make her lose any of that.
also he still hasn't connected the dots about Dipper and Mabel being twins S I G HTakeru is also a really good kid! Honestly, it's hard for Yusuke to hate youngins unless they're bratty and obnoxious, and so far Takeru has proven to be a really genuine and pure-hearted person! The Digimon stuff is still pretty weird (why does it talk?? is it a Spirit Beast or isn't it?? why are these potatoes so complicated), but if it means a lot to him, Yusuke's not going to knock it. It's just nice to have a kid (or anyone) say something is cute and be excited over something as silly looking as Puu and mean it in a non-teasing way, ahahaha |D One of these days, they DO have to have a ViViD session together, though, just so he can see the potato's evolved form and see why Takeru keeps hyping it up so much.

Yusuke thinks Zoro's a pretty cool guy so far, though! I mean, anyone who makes a hobby of sniffing out fight clubs and jumping in on them because they're bored is automatically great in his book, and while Yusuke can be a little shit and constantly tease him for his age and skills (even though there REALLY IS NO AGE GAP...), he can sense that Zoro is good at what he does! The pirate stuff is kind of surprising and weird (he's not going to buy it until you either show him a peg leg or some booty), but he's strong and loves a good fight, so that's like... basically friend material in his book?? One of these days he'll probably ask for a spar of some sort because he really wants to see how good he is (especially going all out), although he's gonna throw Puu at him if he keeps insulting the bird like that ok 8T

He likes her, and he respects her to a decent degree, but man oh man, she really needs to get the stick in her rear loosened five inches. Their first encounter was pretty rocky (granted, Yusuke was being a huge ass, so it was to be expected), but seeing her powers in action and her sensitivity to spirit-related things stuff kinda... prevented him from writing her off as a complete jerk? That, along with the talk they had on the roof after Minako left, made him realize she was one of the more knowledgeable people he's met around here, as well as maybe the only one with abilities closest to his own. In fact, she's kind of like a young, fire-based Genkai-- much more adept at her sixth sense and spirit skills, but also really uptight in a lot of ways, ahaha |D; She's one of the few he can trust with things he can't exactly chat about with other people (like his heritage, Puu's true identity, his weird relationship with death back home), mostly because he knows she'll actually know and have insight to what he's talking about.
And, in a way, he's kind of flattered she's trusting him with certain things too! The whole mystery of her duty and who she has to protect does eat at him a bit, mostly because he hates being kept in the dark about stuff, but obviously she has her reasons and he knows well enough about prying into other people's business is obnoxious, even for him. But it's hard to joke with her and not be in Discussion Mode, just because he can tell she judges him super hard for a lot of things '-';;
but tl;dr, Rei is a really valued ally (possibly friend??) and Yusuke's glad to have someone like her on his side! When she's not. Y'know. Trying to destroy him for making a horrible joke, anyway 8'|

I keep accidentally adding people to this journal GOMENBut oh man, what to think of Ruby-- she seem like a well-meaning kid to him (although they're only like... three years apart so she's really not that much of a kid in comparison), and while trying to get around her and figuring out what was wrong with Yang was annoying at the time... after finally seeing Yang in person and the sort of damage she received, it puts Ruby's actions in a whole new light for him. A positive light, though! Because it shows the extent that Ruby cared for her sister's mental well-being, and whenever they cross paths again, he's definitely going to bring it up to her.
... that all said, though, jeez Ruby, can you TRY to maybe grow a sarcasm filter?? It's hard to be a smarmy jerk and have all of your snappy comments be taken at face value, okay 8'| One of these days, he'll have to give her a crash course on this sort of stuff, which no doubt will end wonderfully for them!! And by wonderful, I mean an utter disaster sob
