i can't exactly call him motherly because he's too awkward for that but steven can be the awkward dad/big brother that tells him to take care of himself

i really liked their thread way back on the intro log a couple of months ago, so continuing that might be fun!

An awkward dad/big brother type is good for this too, and Minato does like Steven too (Real talk though who would he even dislike).

Perhaps they can hang out in the park and talk while his Pokemon are chilling out?
