TL;DR RELATIONSHIP❤MEME ① List all the characters you play. ② People reply with CR they truly, madly, deeply want to know about. ③ Tl;dr on character relationships. First impressions count too! ④ ??? ⑤ Harvest all that tl;dr!
Mary on Sousei: It's kind of a strange dynamic, because Mary wouldn't call Sousei "fatherly" or "brotherly", but he is her first teacher who's actually committed to helping her learn and expand her horizons, and she appreciates it and takes her lessons very seriously-- to the point where Haku!Souji told her she should ditch a lesson and come play with him, she was like NO I CAN'T????
But no, she respects Sousei and looks up to him a lot, even if he's not someone she wants to plague with asking for advice. She does think he's a bit awkward when it comes to expressing concern and sometimes it flies over her head that he DOES worry about her, but then it makes her determined to improve herself so he doesn't worry at all. Yeah! This will... work.
Yang on Ruby: Ruby is pretty much the single most important person in Yang's life in Cerealia, because she's family and her best friend and she still gets to be by her side and fight alongside her, but she also gets to step back and watch her grow, albeit with a few encouraging nudges. Half of her wants to keep being that strong heroic fearless big sister that Ruby idolizes, but she's also aware that when she got her arm broken in the jungle that she gave her sister a huge scare and probably knocked her out of that mindset. She'll admit her weaknesses, freely, but she also still wants to be a good example and role model-- because as much as Ruby admires Yang, Yang also admires Ruby for her straightforward way of going about things and how she knows exactly what she wants to do with her life and why. There are hardly any doubts in the things Ruby does, and Yang is a little envious.
At the same time, there's more to bond over, and she's honestly happy that Ruby's come to accept her crush on Hiro because now they have things to discuss and she can still be a good big sister-- just in another aspect. But she loves spending time with Ruby and being silly with her and training with her, and she couldn't be prouder of how much she's grown during her time here.
But if anyone ever hurts her, there will be blood.
Otome on Leon:
UGH
Okay, so Otome has kind of known from the start that Leon is bad at People. He just gives off the impression, so she's had time to ponder whether it would be better to steamroll him or to go slowly and carefully, and she's settled on a mixture of both. Because Leon is harsh and unable to really vocalize what he actually means a lot of the time, or says things that sound worse than what he means, and she's used to that because of people like Yamato and Keita, but at the same time... like Yamato, he has moments where she's reminded that he is very much still a teenager, like catching him outside of the candy store and having to exercise subtlety to get him inside, when most teenage boys would be like HELL YEAH CANDY /KICKS THE DOOR DOWN.
Leon, as he is now, is an unfinished puzzle. There are pieces like concern, the way he'd called Kogami to help her, or how he'd healed a bruise of hers, but then there are no other pieces surrounding it to fit and make sense, like-- if he's concerned, what's wrong with admitting it? His friendship with Stahn-- how deep does it run? Is it really that hard for him to admit that they're friends? His formality, and his link with Chaltier... what brought a sword into a baby's hands? Why does he act more like a soldier than a sixteen-year-old boy? The way she sees it, he's come to like her, but then at the same time, he consciously tries to drive himself away from such a thing. He panics when she hugs him, he yells at her and calls her a hypocrite-- which she did accept, even though nothing here has hurt her quite so much as the thought that Leon might have been beginning to trust her and believe that she genuinely cared about him until she collapsed. If nothing else, she wants him to understand that it's not just because she's a doctor, but because she genuinely is fond of Leon... that's why she cares. She wants nothing from him, just his well-being to be stable and healthy, because there's something about him that screams of loneliness, and it hurts her to think that might be the case.
But his reaction to certain things has taught her to tread delicately, and she'll be ready to lighten the subject or distract him if he starts to balk, until he grows comfortable enough for her to be more affectionate or praise him more. Otome honestly isn't certain as to whether he'll ever feel like confiding in her, but slowly, she's starting to tell him more about her world and herself, without expecting anything in return. In the meantime, she'll certainly look out for him and be there to help, because she does suspect there are some things the Destiny boys aren't quite over-- if just because of the library aftermath, when she spoke to both of them.
... Otome also likes Chaltier, even if she can't hear him, and she does feel a little better about not checking on Leon every day, because she's sure the sword and Stahn are both looking after him.
no subject
