Kaz views Leia as the Scary Mom figure. Well okay, she means well, and she did help him out when he got scalded by those geysers, and when he was horribly hungover from the hottub party. He just doesn't know how to deal with her scolding - he hasn't had parental supervision in a very long time, and after fighting his way through the lockdown where society had broken down... suddenly having someone treat him like the kid he is and give him proper adult scolding is very bizarre to him.

It's not unpleasant, but it gives him sort of like, a weird mental whiplash. He's unsure on how to deal with it, so he just meekly gives in, haha. Otherwise, he thinks she's a very kind person, albeit very severe...
