Ami. Is Rei's closest friend. She's her second oldest, and her balance. I don't really think that I can say much that you didn't already...but...she respects Ami more than any other senshi because she can relate to her in a lot of ways she can't with the others. Their struggles to find a place because of their gifts are really something that she feels bring them closer. They're closer than sisters, in Rei's head, and Ami is someone she can rely on in ways she cannot with anyone else. She's a great counterbalance and a cooler head when her temper flares. Rei can, would, and will fight for, die for, and kill to keep Ami hale and hearty.

Alice on the other hand triggers her overprotective instincts. She wants to coddle the girl, shelter and shield her, and basically be the person that she needs. She wants Alice to smile and be protected from the horrors of the world...because of who she is. She's already started one argument about that, and she'll do it again.
