Dipper, Dipper, Dipper. Honestly? If Hiro had to pick somebody to name as a best friend (besides Tadashi, of course) he'd probably pick Dipper even if he won't say it out loud because man, that's kind of dumb. Dipper is somebody Hiro connected with very fast and he appreciates the fact that the other boy is just as mystery-seeking and adventurous as he is. He likes collaborating with Dipper more than most people because they also think a lot a like, but Dipper has more experience with the supernatural while he has more experience with tech, which is essentially the two parts that make up Tellus. He finds Dipper to be very intelligent and easy to talk to without having to dumb things down. It's nice.

On a whole other level, he's recognized that having a friend like Dipper is a lot what it must be like to really have friends his own age. When they're not nosing around and info-gathering, he likes that they can rib at each other and talk about things like home and girls and how confusing growing up is. He also connects with Dipper on a level that's different than some of his other friends because he knows what it's like to be really close to a sibling and be sort of lost without them. Someday in the future he'll probably really tell Dipper what happened back home because he trusts him enough. Most importantly, Dipper was also the first person in Cerealia that he really had an argument with and then managed to work through it to continue being friends. That was more important to him than he realized, especially since Dipper was the first friend he fought with who was a friend he made on his own and not one he "inherited" from Tadashi.

So basically, Dipper's a good bro and he's going to continue confiding in him, working with him, and teasing the shit out of him about Xion with no regret.
