Okay, so originally, Mary was so completely convinced that Souji was actually going to stab her, but her status as an amnesiac at the time made her a little more fearless. Now that she remembers her knowledge of the Shinsengumi, well... she's not entirely relying on it to color her view of him, because he was Okita-san before he was Okita-san. He's still a very famous historical figure, but more than that, he's a teasing person who is still very dangerous and is probably going to give Sousei a major headache one day. And also, he agreed to be her friend, which means she actually enjoys speaking with him and it's all too easy to be sincere. Does it mean she's going to talk about how she's a monster-- yeah no, but she'll certainly speak her mind (mostly politely) with him.
