Yang on Jaune: Okay, so we both know getting her shoes puked on didn't give Yang the most impressive impression, but she's since gotten to know Jaune a lot better, and she'd acknowledge his leadership abilities and how he did fairly well on their CERES tour except when... you know, he hit on all the other ladies. But she knows that Jaune is a lot more competent than he usually lets on, and she respects him for what she knows he's capable of and how much he cares for his friends. Granted, she also knows this place can be terrible when it comes to sticking her buddies in danger, so she always wants to look out for him, but otherwise, it's a lot of lighthearted hanging out and being amused by his almost-everything.

Jaune is most certainly a good friend and Yang does want happiness for him, it's just HE STILL KINDA SUFFERS FROM FOOT IN MOUTH SYNDROME Jaune pls.

Otome on Kogami: ... god okay

so Otome's super-first impression on Kogami was kind of indignant-- in that WOW HE MADE A COMMENT ON HER WEIGHT AND YOU JUST. DON'T. DO. THAT. But he also helped her out, and with the things that came afterward, she was admittedly surprised with how quickly she came to like him. Because yes, he might not be the most suave charming mofo, but he has this rough kind of caring aspect to him, and she likes that quite a bit. Which is to say, his inability to sleep properly and his smoking habit are both concerning and vaguely aggravating, but it also gave her a reason to continue speaking with him... originally as a doctor, then as a friend, and now because she just genuinely cares about him.

It's funny, though, because she's pretty much always acknowledged (to herself, mostly) that he's an attractive man, and then she realized how sharp and intelligent and ultimately kind he is, but he also didn't try to boast about any of that, and when her playful flirting actually got a serious response, it both startled and intrigued her. They do share similarities about the kind of lives they've led and the decisions they've made, but there are also clear differences, which she thinks are just as fascinating.

So, yes. Although surprised that the demon-summoning thing and her workaholic tendencies didn't drive him away, Otome definitely likes Kogami. It's way too soon to call it love, what she feels for him, but it's certainly very strong affection and the attraction between them is clear-- which kind of makes her nervous because it really has been a long time since she's been on a date that wound up with a promise for future things. She does get a little exasperated with how much he worries about her and tries to protect her, but she also worries about him a lot, so oh well they're even. The smoking will always get a sigh, though. And nothing makes her happier than learning more about him, even if all of their plans get ruined by life making accidents happen.
