And, of course, you both can't move until you kiss one another (Of course, not specifying where that kiss needs to happen).

And then steps away, right into that barrier.]

[She blushed at Rei's kiss, because, well, she's never actually had a kiss to the cheek before.

I mean...yes. Just so. It didn't work.

[She blanches a little, swallowing as she steps against the barrier.]

I did kiss you. But...um. Maybe that didn't count.

Oh... OH! [OH CRAP! Ami had a brief moment of panic but tried to take a deep breath.] Well... we'll I mean... we'll treat this as a uh... kiss between um... family. After all, I'm sure the i-intent behind the kiss matters little so-so long as the tradition is upheld.

[Rei's voice takes a firmer tone and she puts her hands on Ami's shoulders, clamping down hard to steady her.]

Relax. It's a just kiss. It's not like I'm going to burn you. Just relax, okay?

I think you know well enough why this is difficult... [She swallowed, trying to take deep breaths.]

Yes, because it's physical affection. [Rei slowly reaches for Ami anyway, holding her in a little hug.]

It'll be alright.

[She cleared her throat.]

Alright. [She took a deep breath.]

[And almost as if they've done this in another life, Rei leans down and presses a gentle, absolutely loving kiss against Ami's lips. Breathing in, breathing out, she lets it linger just a bit and then pulls away.]

[She was bright red in the face, but she was also smiling, not because of any desire the kiss held, there wasn't any of that. Rather, it was quite easy to feel the love her sister-in-arms had for her and how could she be upset about such a thing? She took a step, one hand out in front of her so it would come into contact with the barrier before the rest of her did.

Ah! Indeed! We've met whatever invisible standards the mistletoe demanded.
