SHOVES CANON OUT OF THE WAY i'm just going to discuss their development here!!!

Initially, Athena was absolutely overjoyed that Simon arrived because she thought he was saved from the Flamines. And it was nice sort of having a buddy she could play with and do the usual things she did back at home - ie. quiet time and just reading a book with a friend, drawing in somebody's company, etc.

Apart from that, Simon was free to do whatever he wanted, and Athena just wanted to insert herself in every plan he made because she feels that there's seven years of catching up that they needed to do. The Christmas ball thing was one of those moments she'd treasure forever because it was an adult thing that she got to do with Simon!! She probably had dreams of dancing in a very nice dress when she was younger and draw herself in various dresses and talk about them with Simon because who else does she have as friends besides him and Juniper. And it was also one of those times that she showed that she's different from the Athena that he used to know; she's grown up now (even though her maturity level doesn't show it) and can dance!! Amongst other things.

Come the blizzard, she was still clueless as to what Simon's duty meant, and she was clueless for a very long time! When Simon came to the mall after Mutsu helped her contact him, she found it touching in a way because someone would really go that far for her. He's already done so much for her, and yet, he continues to do it. Like. What could possibly be wrong with this man that he would keep sacrificing himself for her??? And the touching and sappy feeling turned into something that bothered her for a while because there was a weird feeling in her chest.

TIME SKIPPING BECAUSE THIS IS GETTING LONG eventually she ends up realising that she wants to spend time with Simon not just because they're friends. And there was nothing else in the world that she wanted but Simon's attention in a romantic perspective. She's not sure if she has it yet because Simon seriously hasn't verbally reciprocated Athena's feelings, but what she hears in his heart placates her for now. And she was absolutely serious that she'd like to hear it more often!! So Simon should totally see Athena to bed all the time. uwu

Also Ryuko slashed through one of the walls in their apartment so Ryuko might end up bunking with Simon too... TEEHEE. (Best way to lay the news is through the tl;cr meme of course)
